Dear all,
a doubt:
is Instagram compatible with Creative Commons?
Can I upload *my* Instagram pics on Commons (so could it be used for WLM)?
Please consider that I'm not suggesting Instagram pics are good for WLM
(they are filtered and all, probably not very suitable for illustrating
monuments on Wikipedia)
but is a legal matter.

Hi everyone,
We're looking for some advice/help/guidance - we would like to update our list
of monuments <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_monuments_in_Malta> that
are eligible for this year's edition of WLM to include a list of properties
scheduled by Malta's Planning Authority. We currently have this list as a
spreadsheet - what is the best way to go about transferring this to
Wikidata and Wikipedia? Is there a way to bulk transfer this list?
Thanks,
Neville

Subject: WLM integration in Commons app
Hi all,
Just wanted to let you all know that we are planning to implement WLM
integration into the Commons app (an Android app for users to upload photos
to Commons) in the near future. :) Due to the current situation, we are
unable to provide concrete estimates for when it will be completed, however
I can say that September is unlikely, November might be possible, and in
the worst case scenario it will certainly be done by 2021.
In the next month or two, I hope to be able to provide more details and a
clearer timeline, and we will also start taking suggestions from organizers
etc for desired features at that stage. I will post an update here as soon
as possible.
We look forward to working with all of you to make WLM participation
easier. :)
Best regards,
Josephine / User:misaochan (Commons app project lead)
Hello everyone,
The long pending reports of Wiki Loves Monuments 2019's Participant and
Organizer surveys have now been published on Wikimedia Commons. You may
access them at the following links;
- Participant Survey:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/59/Wiki_Loves_Monuments_20…
- National/regional organizers can request survey results for their
country (if there were at least 10 responses). Additionally, in
the survey,
we asked if people would like to help in organizing, as lack of human
resources is one of the most commonly reported challenges by national
organizers. To this, about 60% of the survey respondents said yes; if you
need this data, you may also seek that. You can place a request at
https://forms.gle/PSKxCS9nV2yFdXXK8. *If you have already placed a
request, the same will be fulfilled within the next couple of days.*
- Organizer Survey:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/82/Wiki_Loves_Monuments_20…
- It would be a good resource for organizers who are planning to
organize the contest to go through this report, and learn what other
organizers had reported as advice, new ideas, and challenges.
Sorry for enormous delay caused in conducting these surveys, and then
publishing the reports. It was because it is the first time we did such an
extensive survey, and response was overwhelming. It will be much better and
faster for the upcoming iteration.
Stay safe, happy reading!

process of grading photos and selecting winners easier and more convenient!
But how to use it? The international WLE team will make an overview of this
tool and answer your questions during our online training!
*When:* July 11 at 1 pm (UTC)
*Duration: *up to 1 hour
Register using this form and we will send you a link to join the training —
https://forms.gle/fL43PUspFNYRHLut5. Please also register, if you are
interested in this training, but you can't make it this time. We'll send
you a recording afterwards!
