Dear all,
I would like to draw your attention to our podcast “Source code
Berlin”[1], especially to the latest two episodes which are set in
Esino Lario.
“Listening to Wikimania 2016”[2] and “Wikipedians: Voices of a Global
Movement”[3] both cover stories and insights from participants of
Wikimania as well as thoughts on Wikidata, Wikipedia and Education,
Wikipedia Zero. You will hear familiar voices, as these episodes for
example feature Shani Evenstein, María Cruz, and Marta Pigazzini.
Every two weeks, the podcast contributes to the dissemination of our
topics and issues such as open culture, open knowledge, and open data.
In addition we are focusing more on stories from the Wikiverse, in
order to engage the audience with our topics, and reaching out to
developers who are already somewhat familiar and interested in working
with Wikimedia projects. Podcast contributors come from all different
backgrounds, providing a good diversity of topics. The show’s host is
Mark Fonseca Rendeiro, who might be better known to some you of as
Bicyclemark.
You can subscribe to the podcast via your favourite podcatcher, like
it on facebook[4] or follow on twitter[5].
We are also looking for suggestions for topics for future episodes, or
hints to people you would love to hear being interviewed. Please drop
us a line via sourcecodeberlin(a)wikimedia.de
Happy listening!
Nicole

Hey Marc, all,
Based on this conversation, I took a look at the programme draft here
<https://wikimania2017.wikimedia.org/wiki/Programme>. I noticed that the Round
table discussions <https://wikimania2016.wikimedia.org/wiki/Discussions>
(a.k.a. Discussion Room) are not scheduled. Given the description that is
available on the wiki, I presume this is not covered by the 'birds of a
feather'.
I do hope we can schedule the round table discussions again, and that we
can implement some of the lessons we're drawing from the experiences in the
past three years on this issue (we = the small committee that organised the
discussions this year). Feedback seemed rather positive initially (with
some suggestions for improvement), but we'll be collecting some more in the
upcoming weeks.
Best,
Lodewijk
