Hi,
Earlier this week I got admin rights to the Wikimania Facebook group[1]
from Grzegorz Plichta, who has been admin since Wikimania Gdansk. The group
hasn't have much activity in the past years, but still it has 175 members.
I think we can get many more members, and I'd like to offer the Hong Kong
organisers to take one (and by that as many as they'd like) administrator
positions in that group, and use it to their advantage.
If you guys think this is a good idea, please join the Wikimania group, and
send me a mail requesting adminship for a particular group member, with a
reference that can prove that person is part of the organising committee.
I'll take care of the rest from there on, and you can feel free to make
more users admin if you like.

Cheers!

Dear All,
I'm afraid that Deryck Chan is overtly optimistic about the construction of High Speed Rail in Hong Kong. As the line is still under construction until 2015, the Beijing-Hong Kong through train will still be on conventional lines during Wikimania 2013. And I strongly urge for convenience and comfortability sake you'd better take the through train to Hung Hom.
Best regards,
Alan

Hello, Добрый день,
Three years ago some crazy Wikimedians (whose I was) travelled by train
through Europe to join Gdańsk for Wikimania.
This year I intend to join Wikimania Hong Kong by train from France,
mainly with the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Chinese trains. The travel
can take a minimum of about 2 weeks (of intensive train :), but it would
be more comfortable to take more time; the price seems to be about 300-400
€ (+food, visas, etc…), so probably less or similar than the airtravel of
~800 €.
Does anyone is interested to join me? You have time if you want think
about. If we are some people interested in Europe, we could join in
Deutschland before continuing the 10k km :)
