Hi folks,
Registration is now open, and I'd like to get the "in crowd" processed
before the onslaught brought on by the press release. If there are
any fundamental problems be encountered in the process, I'd rather you
guys find them, rather than some random dude who read about Wikimania
in a magazine.
So by all means, register, but only if your schedule is firm and
you're prepared to shell out the fee for admission:

I expect around 500 for the days of the main conference; we don't have
nearly that many registrants yet. There are many people planning to
attend who haven't completed registration; and ~150 scholarship
applications.

SJ,
Just out of curiosity, how many people have registered and how many
people do you expect will attend Wikimania this year? I imagine
others are also interested in this information, thus why I am sending
it to the list.
Thank you,
Chuck
Dear Wikimaniacs,
The conference site is being updated with new schedule and proceedings
details. Those of you with Indico access, please help update the
proceedings list
(http://wikimania2006.wikimedia.org/wiki/Proceedings:Index)
with content from speaker submissions.
Expect changes as we shift things around; and feel free to start
commenting on presentations -- start the discussion early!
== Website information ==
The rest of the website needs more content! There are links about Boston
dand Cambridge and MIT and Harvard to add; notes on travelling, even
notes of where there is a gap in information.
== Scholarships ==
As you may have noticed, travel scholarships are available, and today is
the last day to submit applications for them. People (community members
and other) from all communities, and even really good candidates from
outside the communities, are welcome to apply.
== Registration ==
Site notices encouraging people to register by the early registration
deadline (July 9th) are also up. We really need people to register as
soon as possible -- tell your friends, tell your enemies, send mail to
your favorite lists, help us get the word out.
More to come,
SJ
I'm sorry to say this, as one who could have found it before ...
but sitenotice and document on the website are inconsistent: (in the
former, till June 28, the latter, 26).
We need to determine which date we will use?

Here's the logo in SVG format.

More or less. This one is closer to the color scheme used in the banners :

Try to incorporate the image, and "wikimania 2006", but not
necessarily that font (and not necessarily those colors).

(2 good submissions so far... keep 'em coming!)

Dear all,
I am running a T-shirt design contest for Wikimania. The best design
submission will be printed on hundreds of shirts and made available at
the conference, and showered with praise. Please include the
current Wikimania logo somehow in the design, and send submissions to
me at this address.
We are also soliciting media, writing, and artistic submissions for
the free content competition and artshow. Also curators/judges of
submitted content, and awards for the best submissions.
