Hello, https://wikimania2014.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Attendees is
still basically empty. I've not yet decided whether to attend Wikimania
this year; a major factor will be who I can meet/do something with there
(together with accommodation cost).
Therefore, WMF scholarship administrators, please paste the list of
already-funded scholarship recipients (usernames) on the page. Knowing
what bunch of wonderful Wikimedia volunteers already got selected will
be very inspiring/compelling. (I believe WMF staff attendees were
already decided as well? Chapter scholarships and affiliates' attendees
can be added later.)

boycotting my summer planning ;) ).

Hi folks,
We're looking for extra hands to help
with he smooth running of this year's Wikimania, so I would be
extremely grateful if any of you would consider giving a few hours of
your time.
We will need volunteers to:
* staff the registration desk, especially on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, when we expect to be at our busiest
* moderate/invigilate sessions
* direct attendees around the venue, and between the venue and other points (eg tube stations and hotels)
* staff the information desk, assisting attendees with queries
* help with streaming/recording sessions.
That's a non-exhaustive list, but if
any of those roles appeal to you, or if you're interested in helping
in another capacity, please complete the form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1dzXSoAnHF6StkBA2mKIklse6gZA6Uw-EIT2egTLC3e… or email me with any questions at harry(a)wikimanialondon.org.
Being an editor is not a prerequisite, so please do share this with
anyone else you think might be interested.
For those of you in or around London
(which I appreciate is a minority on this list), we are holding
informal social events for volunteers in the weeks running up to
Wikimania so that volunteers can get to know each other and get to
know the the team, and these will be a great opportunity to learn
more about Wikimania and get involved. These are scheduled for Sunday
evenings: 22 June, 6 July, and 20 July (18:00-20:00); if there is
significant demand, we may consider scheduling further events. If
you'd like to come to any of these events, please let me know by
email (harry(a)wikimanialondon.org)
or sign up on the wiki at https://wikimania2014.wikimedia.org/wiki/Volunteer_drinks.
Any questions, please don't hesitate to
get in touch.
Thanks,
Harry Mitchell

Hi guys,
I’d like to ask when we can expect the program to be completed. I’m seriously contemplating going to Wikimania this year on my own dime and with my own miles, but I wouldn’t want to spend the money if there’s no certainty as to when the program will be completed. I submissed a presentation proposal for this year’s Wikimania, and I presume this is the case as well with others who may possibly be able to afford going to Wikimania on their own, but can’t do so because our participation in the conference is still up in the air.
Ticket prices are not getting any cheaper, and we still have to scramble finding accommodation as well, so it would be wonderful if we can get some indication from the organizers when those last program slots will be filled. That way, we can make appropriate arrangements if need be, or not at all if we’re not presenting.
Thanks and regards from Portland, Oregon,
Josh

Hi,
Anyone can help me to find the person who is coordinating or communicating
with the participants who got the scholarship for the Wikimania 2014 ?
I am trying to communicate with the scholarship team and sent email (to
wikimania14scholarships(a)wikimedia.org) about 5days ago. But none of the
team members feel that they should reply at least with an acknowledgement.
Even i tried to contact with 'Edward Saperia' (via ed(a)wikimanialondon.org)
about 2days ago. But same scenario.
So i am thinking that i might be knocking the wrong door and there might be
some other person who is responsible for this. Please help me to find the
right person.

Currently the only payment method for registration as far as I can find is
by credit card. Are more payment options planned and/or considered?

Hi,/*
Due to popular demand I have created an alternative Eventbrite
registration page that will handle Paypal. Additionally, we have
extended the Early-Bird price to July 1st, so that those that couldn't
pay by credit card are not disadvantaged by missing out.

Please contact me if you encounter any problems with registration using
this site and I will respond asap.
