The commands you wrote are not correct. The last command gives me:
> pietrodn@nightshade:~$ cat crontab.txt | crontab -e
> no crontab for pietrodn - using an empty one

The right commands are:
pietrodn@hemlock:~$ crontab -l > crontab.txt
pietrodn@nightshade:~$ crontab crontab.txt
(without -e)
This works for me.

I sent the information requested by DaB to create my toolserver
account to ts-admins(a)wikimedia.org, but apparently mail server @wikimedia.org hates me - Brion
didn't receive my email some time ago. So, can I send the information
to another address?

Max Semenik ([[User:MaxSem]])
Is it just me or is DaB. editcounter on the stable server not
functioning properly? I get the following error message on all
requests:
Gateway Timeout
Processing of this request was delegated to a server that is not
functioning properly.

this address will probably get lost.
hi
after several tools got unresponsive, i found that wikiproxy was dead -
switching it back to suphp solved the problem. I don't know if other apps using
switchboard are still effected, please check.

so a while ago i tested FastCGI PHP instead of PHP CGI. unfortunately it had a
few problems, particularly with long-running scripts.
it's now possible to enable this selectively for particular files/directories.
read <https://wiki.toolserver.org/view/Switchboard> to find out how.
please do this if you can, as it should help significantly with load on
hemlock.

Hello all
We have now a table of 332 language codes together with their english and native
names in the table toolserver.language - the list was compiled by Bjelleklang
from the contents of MediaWiki's Names.php file. Thanks Bjelleklang!
Enjoy,
Daniel
PS @Bjelleklang: I have modified the table structure a bit to fit better with
the other tables in the toolserver database.

hi,
some changes have been made to how SVN works. you can read about them here:
<https://wiki.toolserver.org/view/New-style_Subversion_repositories>
at the moment, there are no plans to retire the old-style repositories, so you
can continue to use those if you like. all new accounts will have only
new-style repositories.

Hello!
At the moment I and some other users of the dumps show every
day/week/month at http://dumps.wikimedia.org/ for a new dump. I use the
dump of 10 different languages for my projects (Wikipedia-World,
Template-Tiger, Persondata), so it is really work.
I hope someone at this list can program a simple to use
"Dump-Mail-Service". Maybe you have time, please do it! :-)
I want a mail
- for a list of language ( for example: de, en, fr and es)
- if the new dump is complete (all files)
- or if the file "pages-articles.xml.bz2" is complete
Thanks for your help!
