Hi all,
We were developing the content curriculum for the Kenyan curriculum so that we could have a custom-made offline Wikipedia version for us here: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Offline_Projects/Content_Development/Schools…. Is there anyone who is still working on this? As of now we have articles on Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, IRE, Agriculture, History & Geography. We don't have articles on Business Studies & CRE. Articles re Physics, Math, and Geography are too few and still need to be increased. Is there anyone here who has access to the Kenyan curriculum willing to fill in the blanks?
Thanks to Steve & Dennis on adding some articles.

Dear Lordmesh,
I just dug tis from my archives and thought I could loop you in. So a
couple of the KWC winners took up the initiative of starting up a Kenyan
Wikimedia Chapter( http://www.wikimedia.or.ke/Home) and we got recognition
from the Wikimedia Foundation as the 2nd chapter in Africa and the 39th
worldwide. We have been quite an active lot and if you guys are interested,
we could find a way to work together to increase Local Kenyan Content
online both in Wikipedia and the kenya.or.ke
Please let me know what your thoughts are .

Hi all,
In line with having a more conducive environment for WMKE members and
project leads to participate in our projects, I'm coordinating in coming up
with a structure to *start*, *monitor* and *wind up projects*.
So for starters, I'm compiling a list of all programs/projects being
undertaken by WMKE or is of interest to us between now and the next chapter
meeting (sometime this month, Ann will get intouch with more details). I'll
ofcourse put up *stuff that we've already done*, *plan to do* and if you or
anyone you know is involved on a *project (Wikimedia or otherwise) that
is/may be of interest to WMKE*, that's also worth a mention.
You can get intouch offlist and I'll summarize all responses and post them
back here or if it's something you feel that needs some discussion, you can
go ahead and post it on this thread.
Alex
Hello Folks,
I came across this Website that is a Wiki and I thought it might be worth
sharing....
http://www.kenya.or.ke/Main_Page
Seems a lot of effort has been put into it.

Hi all,
It's not like nothing has happened in WMKE over the last three weeks, yet no
traffic on our website, see:
http://www.wikimedia.or.ke/index.php?title=Special:RecentChanges
<http://www.wikimedia.or.ke/index.php?title=Special:RecentChanges&days=30>
&days=30
Please, please, please, let's not give the world wrong impressions about
inactivity when stuff is actually happening! Use our website and show the
world what WMKE is all about and what it's achieving on a week-by-week
basis. After all, we've had elections since as well as an editathon.
Haya, tundelee kusonga mbele!
Wenu katika kujenga chapter yetu,
Oliver (aka BT)
Hi Guys,
So Victor will be coming to Kenya some time May ie next month to interview
contributors, donors and/or users of Wikimedia projects. I've started a
page on our site to plan his visit [1].
He'll be here for around 10 days and we hope to cover the following:
- A round table intros session at the iHub with wmke members and other
relevant parties who'd be able to join
- Interviews at iHub
- Interview Gabriel Nderitu [2]
- Interviews at one or some of the schools covered during the Wikipedia
for Schools projects we did last year
Please sign up here [3] if you'll be interested in meeting Victor and/or
getting interviewed in relation to what you are doing/have done involving
Wikimedia.
Victor, let me know if I've missed anything and do go ahead if you'd like
to add to this.

Hi all,
I am assuming that most of the Wikimania scholarship applicants have gotten their responses by now. For those who succeeded, congratulations. For those who didn't please forward me your name and I will try and explore other channels of sponsorship. I will contact other chapters and affiliated organisations to request some funding. I don't have any assurances, so please bear with me if we don't get the desired results.
Thanks,
Abbas.
Hi all,
The board was of the opinion that we should be posting the board minutes as
well as other important discussions on a google doc which will be created
so as to protect those who have access to the information. This is also
because there are many who have subscribed to the mailing list that are
passive members. Alternatively, I can use the Meta to post the board
minutes as Abbas had suggested. Please comment on this so that we can know
the way forward.
