So answering Oscar's question.
I've designed 3 slightly different logos for this that I'll put up for you guys to select and give suggestions leading to the final one.
As for the site to cater for registration and uploading of pictures, we'll be using a scavenger hunt web app administered by fellow Wikimedians which has previously been used for Wikipedia takes the City events. I'll get intouch with Pharos - one of the admins - to get an account for us.
Kobia from ICT board has been on leave and should have returned by now. I'll ping her in a sec to check on the status of the meetup with local sponsors.
Cheers,
Alex.
Greetings WMKE,
Its realy been long since some vibrant activity was registered in
WMKE.we all have been busy or just maybe there was not much to do.I
would like to report that back in JKUAT our Student WiFi is back and
as such Steve and I suggest we have our first WikiSaturday this
Saturday 28th May.
If you are in JKUAT and would be interested to learn how to edit in
Wikipedia, please respond to the thread. If it goes well,Abbas,we may

screen too.
I will volunteer a few posters for the event and if JKUAT guys you in

posters and also in passing the word round to friends and classmates

Hi guys,
I just blogged about Africa Open Days here:
http://www.mozilla-kenya.org/blog/12-africa-open-days.
Basically, it's an event that will showcase open-source technologies through
talks and demos on open tech in Africa and the first stop, well you guessed it,
Kenya!
Currently, the main organizers for this are guys from Mozilla and Fedora. I feel
that Wikimedia will perfectly fit in this event and we could probably have demos
and talks around Wikipedia, Mediawiki, Commons etc.
A date hasn't been decided yet but it will probably be around September. Let me
know what you think regarding having Wikimedia taking part in this.
cheers,
Alex!
