Hello partners. I have to appreciate the efforts of each and everyone of you
in preparation towards the launch and the pilot project itself. As we plan
for the launch and the cost of the project, let us also put the core item in
mind: The presentation itself. We will be using the openzim version of
offline wikipedia for schools, so we have to be absolutely conversant with
its functionalities.
It could be more convenient if we had the latest version (late 2010) but
from the searches I have done, the latest we have is version 0.7 which was
released early this year. This version records some of the events which have
already taken place such as the 2010 world cup in future tense. If anyone
knows more about a later version release please inform us.
I have version 7 installed with Kiwix v.0.9 in my windows 7 and it is
confirmed that it works with no hickups.
I was just surfacing the idea that those of you that are going for the pilot
may first want to meet together so that we can familiarize ourselves
completely on the use of schools wikipediaa. This will make presentations
interesting and more efficient since we can only deliver to others what we
know very well. Let us get your views on this.
Kind regards,
