Hi,
nice video in a typical American style.
Trying to "sell" that elsewhere in the world is, uhm, problematic at
least.
For our culture, if Jimmy was speaking at half the pace, better less,
we had chance to follow the subtitles.
As it is, is is plain not usable.
It goes as a strange piece of artwork that noone understands, but is
"Nice, a nice specimen. Nod. Nod." :-)
unless you are familiar with America, and even then, its is likely
simply too fast for most to understand.
Btw.
As a general hint to all the many "outreach" people there - as a
translator I have been following your struggles to some
extent for a while - if you do not learn to become culture independent
which as per my impression you do not and you will not,
give up your current approach and hire locals.

Hi dear translators,
Im passing on a request from my friend and colleague Victor Grigas.
Theres this short video about editathons:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:WikipediaMeetup.webm [1]
It is going to be distributed on Friday.
It would be very nice if you could get it translated to your
language. I just did it for Hebrew and it took me less than 3
minutes.
Instructions:
1. Copy the text from
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/TimedText:WikipediaMeetup.webm.en.srt
[2]
2. Create a page similar to the URL above, but with your language
code instead of en. For example, for French write:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/TimedText:WikipediaMeetup.webm.fr.srt
[3]
3. Paste the English text that you copied in step 1.
4. Change the English lines to lines in your language. Dont change
the lines with numbers and times.
5. Save the page. Thats it! To test, go again to
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:WikipediaMeetup.webm [4]
... and while playing the video, click the CC button at the bottom
of the player and select your language.
Thank you!
