My heart is full. Thank you, Michael, for the opportunity to reunite around
the great work you do. How great to have Doc and Jo Ann and Alice come in
to Austin, too, to hang out downtown!
I long to have the whole family together.
Madge and Clayton and Alice, you've spoken well for us here. I'll refrain
from repeating these true and good things that I feel, feel, feel.
Love,
Susan

I second Madge's thanks and her glowing recommendation of the film. It's
a remarkable story, beautifully told. And see it in a theater if you can.
The fusion of the music and imagery is often very moving.
Michael, thank you also for helping remind me every March why we need to
keep going OUT to see movies when we can, rather than just staying in.
Laura was talking outside the Paramount afterwards about how as long as
she's known you, you've been sharing your love of film with friends. How
perfect that now you are doing that not just with old friends and
Winedalers but also with audiences all over the world. Good stuff!
cheers,
cs

Thank you, Madge, it is quite a community.
It was a real kick to see so many Winedale colleagues last night from our
reunion summer and from the early years (fols like Rob, Laura, Jerald,
Carol, and Buddy).
Fun was had by all.
Geesh, Madge, you sure know how to apply the pressure. Hope I have a movie
in sxsw next year. I better get cracking.
Just as an aside, I didn't really make the movie. The director Malik made
it and what a major job he did. Hard to believe the movie is a first film
from him. Kudos go to him. Hope to see everyone soon.
much love, michael

What a thrill! Thanks to Michael Barker, not only for treating some of us
weeklong folks to movies and dinner this week, but also for making *Searching
for Sugar Man*. Mums the word because the less you know about it going
in, the better. Don't read reviews, just run and don't walk when it's
released around the county at the end of July.
Michael, safe travels as you leave Austin today. To the rest of you that
are not in Austin, I'd suggest you start making trip plans now to be here
next time Michael comes for SXSW.
Great seeing so many of you this week. What an incredible community we
have.
Love,
Madge
