Hello Sweethearts!
Happy Coming New Year! I wish I could have made the Austin mini-reunion but there was so
much (mostly wonderful) family stuff going on that I didn't have it in me to make the
hour long drive into Austin and then back. And too, my little 86 year old mother really
wanted my company for the last couple of days of my visit.
But I got to have a happy and cozy even mini-er reunion with Alice who stayed overnight at
the ranchetta and we talked about everyone in great and gossipy depth. So you are all
very freshly and wonderfully on my mind.
And Maggie, the cochlear implant was the highlight of my year -- but with it came the
amazing miracle of hearing all of you speak the language of our hero Shakespeare. I have
never before heard his language being spoken. And I was transfixed by your voices spinning
his stories. Thank you my dear friends for that inexpressible joy.
I love you all.
I hope 2011 is an even happier year for us than 2010. And that it proves true for every
to follow.

I can just see all of you out at the ranch, sipping coffee on the damp and cool
morning.... wish I could drop in via helicopter like LBJ, waving my Stetson.
Alice and Mary were snowbound and I have heard no word of a green light for a
time/place... meanwhile I may be grounded by a sick kiddo. My best to all, and if there
is indeed a gathering tonight maybe I can drop by!
