Greetings,
I wrote an article on Pfizer Inc. and I titled it "فيزر". A friend suggested
the title "فايزر". Do we need a sysop intervention to rename the title?
Thoughts?

Could any of you guys help me with the picture of "Newton"?
I can't get it to show in my "Newton" article.
Many thanks.

I knew such addition/deletion will take place by people that don't agree
with the content of Wiki like the last paragraph I translated in "Einistien".
I wish people could understand that was an article about Einistien and
that was his belief and not necessarily mine:) I would want the reader to
know about the scientist's belief. Thats not why I posted, I would like to
know how to go about article "X" which from my point of view it is a black
article but you see it as a white article? let me be more specific, a Moslem
writing about "Jesus" and a Christian writing about the same?

Ladies, gents,
I don't think an article like "اينشتين" should be removed from the wanted
list based on the 2 liners written! I think it is still wanted. I agree a 2
liner promotes people to elaborate and write more on a topic but
taking it out of the wanted list says "..one down" which is not.
...My 2c.

Good people,
Spoke with the maintainer of the above and managed to convince him
to alter the copyrights. Good enough? Please look at the copyrights
at the bottom of his page. It should make his web site FDL.

I called a guy with an electronic content over here (46 encyclopedia grade
articles) and over the phone, he was explicit in okaying his content on Wiki.
To tell you the truth, he was more excited than I am! Where do I go from here?
Please don't tell me he has to sign some paper work.

Hi all..
When I started in the Wikipedia, about a month ago, I proposed a
naming convention for articles in the Arabic Wikipedia, and I would like
to discuss it here if possible to see if it is suitable or not. The
Naming convention can be found here:
http://tinyurl.com/38w6h
I want to ensure that EVERYTHING in it is subject to discussion and
change. Since I suggested it, I thought that some changes are needed,
but I thought that I should not change right on, but discuss here, as
results will be much better.
First thing is the use of AL in the article topic. I think that the AL
use should be very minimized in the first word of the topic name, no
need for it, specially that now Wikipedia allow joining prefixes in the
links. for example:
al[[razi]]
ال[[رازي]]
Will look properly shaped, as the AL will be combined with the link. So
the initial AL should be eliminated.
The other issue is the use of AL inside the Topic, but not in the first
word. Now, I am not sure that we should prevent that, as it is very
common to have the second word identified with AL, and not doing so will
make meaningless topic titles. For example:
نظام ادارة المحتويات
<http://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%86%D8%B8%D8%A7%D9%85_%D8%A7%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8…>
the word محتويات should be identified with AL to make the title in
proper Arabic. Another thing is that I think that the use of AL in the
articles in the Wikipedia name space (Start with ويكيبيديا:) Should be
fine, as those articles names start with ويكيبيديا anyway.
I noticed that Ayman (I hope you are in the list) renamed few articles
to make then comply with the no AL rule even though the AL was not in
the beginning of the topic, this was not in my mind when I suggested
those naming guidelines. I hope that we can discuss it here to know how
we move from here.

I think you guys have a dictionary in place and not any dictionary:)
A dictionary with words that you won't share with your kids:)
Read on..

The wordlist is under GPL license (which is in essence the
same as FDL), but I'm no expert on licenses. As far as
I'm concerned, there is no issue and use as you see best.
Do they have a mechanism in place to use the wordlist ?
or will they deploy QaMoose (or the mini QaMoose coming up) ?
Salam.
