I do often think of Poor Tom whenever I see a homeless man on the subway.
On the subject of Shakespeare in NYC, my daughter Jessica and I saw yesterday the Royal
Shakespeare Company's production of The Winter's Tale, which we both agreed was
marvelous, including the giant bear puppet that swallowed up Antigonus. Her enjoyment of
the play was greatly enhanced by her recent Camp Shakespeare experience, and I think she
preferred Doc's editing of the play to the RSC director's. And by coincidence,
sitting in the row in front of us was former Winedalean Willie Wilson, who had played
Leontes during one of his Winedale summers. This fall I may try to set up a night for
drinks in NYC of former Winedalers, so do let me know if any of you non-NYCers are
planning to be in the city after Labor Day.
Best,
Bob
