Hi Ingo,
Sorry to hear about your difficulties with Wikimetrics. I'll try to answer
as many questions as I can.
I have cc'd wikimetrics(a)lists.wikimedia.org on this email. Next time you
have a questions, if you email that list, you are more likely to get a good
answer, because there are many other Wikimetrics users subscribed.
Expanding a cohort later: this is not currently possible with Wikimetrics.
You would need to create a new cohort with the extra usernames included.
Gibberish about metrics: Do you mean the definitions of each metric? I
agree that the way these are written makes it hard to understand what they
mean. Could you describe what you want to measure about this cohort? That
will help me (or someone else on this list) recommend which metric you
should use.
You also ask "what can I see from the txt file?". I don't know what you
mean by that. Could you be more specific?
My apologies for the frustrating experience,
Jonathan

Sent too early--now with a more accurate subject line.

Hello all,
I'm trying to reproduce some reported problems with uploading non-Latin
characters in usernames. In particular, there's a bug where certain
characters seem to disappear when uploading names using Firefox.
If you have cohorts that have had particular problems with the character
encoding, it would be very helpful if you could pass them on to me or
comment on the Phabricator task[1], along with any other information you
have (for instance, the program you used to save the CSV, your
browser/operating system/character set, how you ended up uploading the
cohort).
The more information there is on this, the easier it will be to figure out
what's going on. Thanks for your help.

I am trying to run a report measuring rolling active editor and newly registered for a cohort of about ~20,000 accounts (actually only about ~1,300 Commons usernames, but I opted to have it extended to their global accounts in case they also did stuff outside of Commons). I have now tried to run the report twice and it has failed. Anyone know what is going on?
Thanks,
James

Dear all,
Im reporting WMAR programs with Wikimetrics. Anybody can explain me whats
the difference between rolling surviving new active editors and survival?
As well, any help regarding how to see the contributions to other projects
apart of Wikipedia?
Thanks!!! hugs

The dump generation process was restarted Feb 12, after a long outage.
It takes several weeks for all dumps to refresh.
You can follow the progress at http://dumps.wikimedia.org/backup-index.html
All dumps now contain full data for December.
Wikistats did process all of these dumps, the last one completed yesterday (wikidata).
So I could generate reports for January now, but I'm quite busy, so I ask for a few more days.
There is still 2 to 4 days to go to bring all dumps fully up to date, with data for January.
So we can jump ahead two months in one go.
You can follow the progress at http://stats.wikimedia.org/WikiCountsJobProgress.html
It looks like January data and reports will be in before next Thursday's Metrics Meeting.
Cheers
Erik

Hi Erik Z,
A member from the Czech community requested an update on when stats for 2015 per wiki [0] will be available. The email was sent to the wikimetrics list [1] so I am relaying it here.

Hello all,
I am getting failures again, both when uploading cohorts and running
reports. Strangely, it seems the more reports you try to run in one batch
the less likely it is any report will succeed.
Is anyone else having these problems again? Wonderful Analytics people,
could you please work your magic again?
Many thanks,
Amanda
Hello,
We apologize in advance but wikimetrics will not be functioning next
Tuesday, labs is due for some platform maintenance and all tools deployed
to labs are likely going to be down.
We also will like to let you know that problems with google signin on
wikimetrics have been fixed. Please let us know should you find any
problems on that regard.
Thanks,
Nuria
