Hi, Wikimetrics folks!
I mentioned to Dan a while back that I would find it super useful if gender
(for those who self-identify on their user accounts) were incorporated into
the cohort information on Wikimetrics. Since this isn't currently
available, Dan mentioned asking others if they would find it useful.
If you would find it useful to be able to pull the gender of your cohorts,
please let us know! I personally work with students and would like to see
how much content our women are adding to Wikipedia, if there are any
differences in editing behavior from a gender standpoint, which academic
disciplines draw more women onto Wikipedia, etc.
Thanks!
Jami

I am running reports on three cohorts:
Cohort TWA control
Cohort TWA invited
Cohort TWA player
These are groups of editors who played The Wikipedia Adventure.
My reports say they ran successfully overnight, but several of them yield
this code when I try to download the csv.
{
"status": "PENDING"
}
There are also some identical reports, for example
Threshold - TWA invited
...ran more than once and I'm not sure which report is 'the one'.
Could someone assist, please?
Thanks, Jake (Ocaasi)

Hello Wikimetrics users,
Earlier this morning we published updates to Wikimetrics. This update
mostly fixes bugs. Of note:
- Deleting cohorts
- Cut/Pasting cohorts containing UTF-8 characters (for example Arabic
characters)

Kevin Leduc
Sorry, I meant to send this out Wednesday and sent it to the wrong mailing
list.

The Staging Site [1] is where we perform our last round of tests before
moving new features onto the production server. We will announce when new
features are ready to be tested here. If bugs are found, please specify
you were using the staging server. This server is reset frequently and
data is not backed up. Please do not use this server for your work.

New in Wikimetrics 0.6
====================
- Scheduled Reports: You can create reports that are updated around 12:00am
UTC every day. Data will be generated the first time you run the report
and then updated at the scheduled time.
- Public Reports: You can make a report public by clicking open the 'Lock'
icon next to the report. Doing so will create a publically accessible file
with a unique URL you can share. Making the report private again will
remove the publicly available file.

Hi everyone,
Wikimetrics will be down right now as we're pushing the latest features to

I will reply to this thread once the push is complete.

Upcoming Release
==============
On Wednesday April 23, 2014, a new version of Wikimetrics (0.6) will be
deployed onto our Production Server. You can test this new version right
now on our Staging Server and provide feedback. Should no major issues
arise by Wednesday 12:00am UTC, we will proceed with the deployment during
the day. We do not expect any significant downtime. Notes: any reports or
other data on the Staging Server are subject to deletion without notice;
your saved cohorts and reports on the Production Server will be preserved.

Hello
I try to upload a cohort to Wikimetrics for the first time but Validation:
FAILURE appears. I think the reason are usernames written in Armenian
characters. I tried both csv and txt formats but the same error. I deleted
the Armenian usernames from the list and no problem was detected, I could
upload the cohort. Please help.
Thank you

Hi,
Goof-head that I am, I took down wikimetrics for a few minutes just now.
The reason was that I accidentally ssh-ed into the wrong box and updated
to the latest version of the code. I thought I was in staging but I was in
fact on production. No related problems seem to have come up.
I did notice an unrelated problem, which is that since our migration to the
new puppetized version of wikimetrics, old reports are no longer saved for
30 days. I'm filing a bug and looking into that, please let me know if
this is affecting you.
Sorry if I caused any trouble, drinks on me
Dan
Hi everyone,
I'm going to migrate the wikimetrics server from the Tampa datacenter to
the Eqiad datacenter. If all goes smoothly, nothing should look different.
Wikimetrics will be offline while I make this move, please let me know if
you need it for an urgent report. I will reply back to this thread once
the migration is complete.
