Hello,
I just finished updating the existing page on Dravidian
languages<http://kn.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%B2%A6%E0%B3%8D%E0%B2%B0%E0%B2…
on
the kannaDa wikipedia. I would like to further enhance the pages on
languages in the kannaDa wikipedia (
http://kn.wikipedia.org/)
This would include introducing the concept language families as a form of
categorization.
When we introduce language families, we would need to use established names.
Names established not just in the English speaking communities but also such
established among the Indian linguists. Names of families like
Indo-European, Indo-Aryan, etc.
Established family names like Dravidian need not be used as the word drAviDa
(ದ್ರಾವಿಡ) is in common use among kannaDigas.
Regards,
Sudarshana
