Good Morning Group
My interest of the three questions is the first what impact or change do we
want to have on the world over the next 15 years
My answer is to become more media associate not in debate with mainstream
media but to establish a stronger base in the presence Lately wiki has been
thrown in the misty of all the speculations as being the source to leak or
reveal certain information wiki leaks is an very informative base of
sourceful information and just recently they have been being accused of the
opposite I feel in the next 15 Years groups should have established their
base to defend those facts inorder to remain wiki at its level of respect
with out people being able to use its information base for anything other
than that

Hey Liang,
Though the big question is indeed a large scale one, you could take
advantage of the examples provided by the cycle page
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Strategy/Wikimedia_movement/2017/Cycle_1&action=edit&preload=Strategy%2FWikimedia+movement%2F2017%2FCycle+1%2Fpreload§ion=new&create=New+section&nosummary=true>
and form more precise questions. eg
- What impact or change do we want to have on the world over the next
15 years?
- What is the single most important thing we can do together over the
next 15 years?
- What will unite and inspire us as a movement for the next 15 years?
You can also form your own questions basing on these guidelines.
Cheers,

It is really a large scale question. I can hardly imagine what I will be
doing as my job in 15 years, even harder to predict the whole Wikimeidia
movement or the world trend.

Dear all
Same for vietnamese wikipedia. We have asked users and IP several
questions like Venus just did, and to let them discuss freely first. Once
the discussion is going, we can summarize the emerging ideas to themes
later (which may not be identical to meta themes)

With respect to specific themes yes I think "quality content" qualifies
and is an excellent theme. Goals that work on improving content would than
fall under that.

Dear Liang,
First of all, I would like to thank you for volunteering as the discussion
coordinator. I really appreciate your dedication.
To answer your first question, 'the first big question' is 'What do we
want to build or achieve together over the next 15 years?' We hope that we
can find out the answer with the discussion in different communities, and
there are some topics we can discuss in order to find out the themes we
want to work on. Here are some examples.
- What will guide our work together over the next 15 years?
- What impact or change do we want to have on the world over the next
15 years?
- What is the single most important thing we can do together over the
next 15 years?
- What will unite and inspire us as a movement for the next 15 years?
- What will accelerate our progress over the next 15 years?
- What will we be known for in the next 15 years?
I believe that we can try to explore different topics in the discussion.
At the very beginning, I would suggest that we can try to find out our
goals first, and then maybe we can talk about the technology which can be
used to achieve our goals, also how to encourage the community to work
together.
Best,
Venus
Liang,
Venus

Hello Nichole and fellows,
One of the volunteering translator of strategy process from Chinese
Wikimedia community is asking that, he is confused regarding "the first big
question", what is it to be exact, and also, what would be the "themes"?
I am thinking maybe the first question may be "What are going to build or
achieve together in the next 15 years?" And when people provide some
initial feedback on the big question, we can develop more details of those
"what" into different themes, such as content-quality-and-quantity-wise,
contributor-wise, advocacy-wise, these kinds of themes. Is it correct?
Is there any example for the possibles themes may be? These are rather
difficult for people who have no experience with strategy process or sense
making to imagine those term stands for, and it would be helpful for them
to understand the process to elaborate it or demonstrating some vivid case
study.
Thank you.
