Hi,
I would like to have something like the following at the bottom of each page:
This page was created on <page creationdate > and has been viewed <number of hits > times. (instead of only number of hits)
Is that possible? How?

It's not completely sorted out but there has been a big progress in just
a couple of days:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Social_media
Summary: follow & like MediaWiki in your social networks to read &
promote MediaWiki & Wikimedia tech news.
* http://identi.ca/mediawiki
* https://twitter.com/MediaWiki
* https://www.facebook.com/MediaWikiProject
These channels pay a lot of attention to critical mass. The more
followers and shares/likes the more promoted you get (more or less).
Your support is welcome.
See also how we can redistribute your relevant updates:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Social_media#Sharing_your_updates
There are still some details to polish e.g. how to automate the process
including Facebook (& Google+) or how to clear the FB mess. If you enjoy
social media your ideas are welcome:

To whom it may concern,
We recently migrated our MediaWiki server over to use IIS as opposed to XAMPP and the only issue that we're running into is with the images not appearing even after running the reimport script for the images.
When looking at any given Wiki article, we see the filenames shown however the thumbnails and images aren't available. I suspect that this may be an issue with the MIME type configuration for IIS, however would like to be sure and if that is the case, how does one configure for the proper MIME type in IIS so that they show up.
Thank You,

You should be able to do this with some custom CSS. Put it in Special:AllMessages common.css.

Hi,
I need to override the level-1, <h1>, page title format to something else such as <h2> and then allow (programmatically or by an editor) to add a custom <h1> page title. Is that possible?
Thanks,
Al
Hello,
I got the following warning during the last step of the installation (latest MW). Can anyone suggest the problem or how to fix it?
Creating tables...
Warning: mysql_query(): Table 'my_wiki.wk_archive' doesn't exist in /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/wiki/includes/db/DatabaseMysql.php on line 46

Fellow MWers,
I am seeing an issue on my enterprise wiki for internal documentation. Our
private wiki is set-up to use Memcached along with APC. The users are
complaining of getting this error when trying to preview a page: "Sorry! We
could not process your edit due to a loss of session data. Please try again.
If it still doesn't work, try logging out and logging back in." Memcached is
configured correctly and running, but I think that the PHP sessions that are
being stored in it are getting invalidated somehow. I guess the session data
in memcached is just as volatile as any other data in memcached, i.e. it is
subject to being invalidated over time or being deleted to make room for
other cached data. Is there a way I can pinpoint what is going on here?
My wiki is running with the following configuration stats:
MediaWiki 1.18.2
PHP 5.3.3 (apache2handler)
MySQL 5.0.77-log
Linux 2.6.18-274.17.1.el5 (CentOS 5)
I have memcached configured with these settings:
$wgMainCacheType = CACHE_MEMCACHED;
$wgMemCachedServers = array( "127.0.0.1:11211" );
$wgSessionsInMemcached = true;
Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers,

I wrote an extension that defines a parser function called firebaseraw.
I setup the magic word in my .i18n.php file like so:
$magicWords = array();
$magicWords['en'] = array(
'firebaseraw' => array( 0, 'firebaseraw' ),
);
I register the function hook (along with three tag hooks) in
onParserFirstCallInit() like so:
public static function onParserFirstCallInit( Parser $parser ) {
$parser->setHook( 'firebase', 'FirebaseHooks::wfFirebaseRender' );
$parser->setFunctionHook( 'firebaseraw',
'FirebaseHooks::wfFirebaseRenderRaw' );
$parser->setHook( 'fb-map', 'FirebaseHooks::wfMapRender' );
$parser->setHook( 'fb-navbox', 'FirebaseHooks::wfNavboxRender' );
return true;
}
I'm trying to use the extension in two different wiki installations. In
one, it works. In the other, the {{#firebaseraw }} markup remains and the
error_log reads:
"" is not a valid magic word for "firebaseraw"
Any ideas? Does this mean my magicWords array is not getting read correctly?

Hi Folks,
I have been tasked with upgrading a wiki from mediawiki 1.11.0 to the latest version. I started with a VM running SLES 11 R2, Mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.96, for suse-linux-gnu (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper and PHP 5.2.14. There have been several issues related to images and the highly configured skin that was designed. I have been able to work around some of these issues, but can't seem to get it to work with anything beyond version 1.15.5. Even then there has been some sort of an issue where I am unable to login to make page modifications. I then upgraded to PHP 5.3.8 and now I cannot access any .php pages. I am prompted to download the file. Additionally, I have attempted to start fresh with version 1.19.3 and can't get past the php file downloading issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Iry Witham
