$wgDBtransactions gets set to true if using InnoDB tables. Is there
an advantage to using InnoDB tables?
The disadvantage is that with MySQL there is a file, ibdata1, that
seems to grow endlessly if InnoDB tables are used. See
http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=1341
We're wondering if we should just convert everything to MyISAM. Any
thoughts?

Hi all,
I've created some custom namespaced on one of my wikis, Botwiki
(previously known as pywikipedia).
I've put these lines in my LocalSettings.php file:
- ---
#Custom namespaces
$wgExtraNamespaces =
array(100 => "Manual",
101 => "Manual talk",
102 => "Python",
103 => "Python talk",
104 => "Php",
105 => "Php talk",
106 => "Perl",
107 => "Perl talk",
108 => "AWB",
109 => "AWB talk",
110 => "IRC",
111 => "IRC talk",
112 => "Other",
113 => "Other talk"
);
$wgContentNamespaces[] = 100;
$wgContentNamespaces[] = 102;
$wgContentNamespaces[] = 104;
$wgContentNamespaces[] = 106;
$wgContentNamespaces[] = 108;
$wgContentNamespaces[] = 110;
$wgContentNamespaces[] = 112;
- ---
However, I have a big problem: when I go to a page in one of these new
namespaces (not the discussion, the main ones), for example
http://botwiki.sno.cc/wiki/Perl:Copyright_Violation_Bot , I found the
red link to the discussion page. It's right, as there is no discussion
page for that article. But if you click on it, it brings you to
http://botwiki.sno.cc/w/index.php?title=Perl_talk:Copyright_Violation_Bot&a…
correct, of course. But have a look of the article and discussion tabs:
they are both red! The first, "article", leads to
http://botwiki.sno.cc/w/index.php?title=Perl_talk:Copyright_Violation_Bot&a…
when it should lead to
http://botwiki.sno.cc/wiki/Perl:Copyright_Violation_Bot and the second,
"discussion", leads to
http://botwiki.sno.cc/w/index.php?title=Talk:Perl_talk:Copyright_Violation_…
, when it should lead to
http://botwiki.sno.cc/w/index.php?title=Perl_talk:Copyright_Violation_Bot&a…
.
It's the first time I deal with custom namespaces :-( but I have some
ideas of what it can be. Can the problem be with the
$wgContentNamespaces settings? So it detects everything as ns0? (don't
think so).
Or can it be the fact that I haven't used an underscore in the
$wgExtraNamespaces definition?

I want to moving all pages in a certain namespace (about 60 pages) into
the the "main" namespace. I couldn't find how to do this, so I tried
exporting the pages and importing them and I ran into all sorts of
problems. Is there a way to do what I want without using the import and
export features (and without having to move each of them manually)?
Thanks.
I'm using a site which covers multiple related games and there are topics
that have the same name for each game. These topics are then gathered into
hierarchies of MediaWiki categories. Is there any way to use some kind of
namespace mechanism to allow the same category name to be used for multiple
games? For example, given the game prefix names WoW and WCIII, could I have
WoW:Categories and WCIII:Categories?

Any idea what would cause and how to fix the following Warnings?

Yes there are just the two of us and security inside is not an issue in
this context. This looks very interesting.

If so, you might try the SQL2Wiki.php extension. Not sure where I found
it, but it's probably on the MediaWiki site in Category:Extensions.
I don't think it will do exactly what you want -- it displays everything
in HTML tables -- but we're experimenting with using it for project
management and inventory, and it looks promising.
In any event, if you can do some PHP programming, the SQL2Wiki.php would
probably be a good place to start to make your own custom extension.
But don't put this on a site with public access. Hate to think of all
the trouble that could be caused!
:::: Because the -- all which is on the table begins to address the big
cost drivers. For example, how benefits are calculated, for example, is
on the table. Whether or not benefits rise based upon wage increases or
price increases. There's a series of parts of the formula that are being
considered. And when you couple that, those different
cost drivers, affecting those -- changing those with personal
accounts, the idea is to get what has been promised more likely to be
-- or closer delivered to that has been promised. Does that make any
sense to you? -- George W. Bush ::::

Hi list,
I tried out the AWC Forum extension and I have a problem using the
extension in our wiki.
The Wiki runs on a server machine and I use the variable $wgServer to
switch the ip from 10.1.1.x to www.example.com. This works fine for the
wiki, but not for the forum extension. I can open the forum page but if
I try to work with it (open another page), the Browser tries to open the
page http://10.1.1.x/...
Which parameter do I have to change? Or is it a server problem? I use
Apache.
Best Regards,
Sven

OK I've know what this is. <redface>I was using mw1.5.2 and my quick
look at the extension requirements read 1.10 as being 1.1.</redface>

Thanks for the speedy response. It looks as though it's just what the
doctor ordered. Problem is that it produces an error when I install it:-
