Anyway, the proper solution for this problem is autosaving article drafts.
IIRC the Drafts extension <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Drafts> is
basically ready but needs usability improvements, and development has
stalled because when this was found out the Foundation did not have a user
testing team yet; maybe James can tell if any further work is planned on
that. As far as I can see, it would be the lowest hanging fruit by far WRT
editing improvements for non-newbies.
