Good afternoon everyone.
Indeed - I spend pretty much all of yesterday exchanging emails with our
provider to fix this and made staff aware in advance of the issue with the
intention to update you all this morning if it couldn't be resolved.
The issue is they require authorisation documents every time you renew the
domain - I re-provided the same ones used in 2013 and this year the
customer service rep was unable to extract them or accept them. I should
add that, for reasons best known to themselves, the whole thing has to be
done by fax (you read that correctly)
Currently I cannot provide the authorization documents in a format that
staff member can read and he has referred the matter to a 'specialist' and
I should receive a reply tomorrow
Some questions that may occur:
Why didn't you just renew well in advance?
We did - we actually transferred payment on 1st August. However the two
factors that were unclear was a) Foreign bank payments can take 4 - 6 weeks
to clear and b) that the process of authorisation would requires supporting
documentation again
Why didn't you anticipate the issue with authorisation documentation not
being accepted?
Simply - I wasn't briefed that supporting documentation would be needed
again (it is identical to last year) merely that DNS validation would be
required (a two minute job we have done). The exact same documentation was
approved last year. This year we had a different individual to work with.
What happens now?
Either tomorrow we attempt for a sixth time to provide a copy of the
documentation they deem legible based on a hard copy scan or their
specialist authorisies the renewal based on what we have provided
I will also be complaining because the process has been tremendously
difficult.
What happens until then?
I'm afraid I'm powerless to effect any change until then - their reps are
not replying to me directly, there is no number to chase, and I cannot
access the documentation in the office until then. This means for a day at
least (today) if you need to access the site you will need to add a
security exception.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused and lack of advance warning - I will
notify you tomorrow with progress.

Hi guys
There was a problem with the payment for the certificate renewal. We are
now waiting for the documents to be validated before a new certificate is
issued.
Kat is working on this. And as soon as a certificate is issued I will get
it installed.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

This needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Note it also means I can't
