Greetings everyone,
I am delighted to announce the first edition of *"Wiki Loves Muslim
Academia <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Muslim_Academia>",* a
new Wiki Loves Campaign, which aims to help document knowledge related to
global Muslim academia across Wikipedia projects.
For the first edition, *Wiki Loves Muslim Academia 2024*
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Muslim_Academia_2024>, we limit
ourselves to organising the campaign on Indic-language Wikis and the
English Wikipedia only, to take better care of on-wiki policies subject to
absence of a lot of helping people and teams.
We have compiled a set of instructions and other pages on the Meta-Wiki and
look forward to seeing Indian volunteers *contribute between 15 January and
16 February 2024! *The scope of the campaign has been highlighted on this
page <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wiki_Loves_Muslim_Academia_2024/Scope>
.
Should you have any questions, please let me know.
Best regards,
Aafi

Dear Indic Wikimedians,
I trust this message finds you well. I am reaching out to share news about an upcoming initiative by Access to Knowledge (A2K), designed to provide support to Indian Wikimedians in navigating the Wikimania 2024 scholarship process.
Our primary goal with this initiative is to enhance equity, accessibility, and the overall quality of scholarship applications from Indian Wikimedians. In light of the objective, we have outlined the following approach:
Community Call with Experienced Wikimedians:
We have gathered a panel of Indian Wikimedians with substantial Wikimania participation experience and a strong understanding of the general scholarship process.
Topics to Cover:
*
Experience of Wikimania and its relevance to Indic Wikimedians.
*
Key elements the committee looks for in scholarship applications.
*
Q&A session for participants to seek clarifications.
A2K is thrilled to announce the community call scheduled for 9th December 2023, where our panel of experienced Indian Wikimedians will share valuable insights into the scholarship process. This session aims to equip participants with a deeper understanding of Wikimania's importance and the scholarship context.
Volunteer Committee:
A dedicated volunteer committee comprising experienced Indian Wikimedians will conduct virtual sessions to assist applicants. Responsibilities include guiding applicants in understanding and improving their draft applications, sharing personal experiences, and providing tips for successful scholarship applications.
Zoom Room Support Sessions:
*
We will allocate specific time slots for one-on-one discussions between volunteers and applicants.
*
Focus areas include addressing individual concerns, providing personalized feedback, and strategizing ways to enhance applications.
*
Zoom rooms will be utilized to facilitate direct interactions between volunteers and applicants.
We invite all interested Wikimedians to actively participate and take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen their scholarship applications.
