Good to see so many people are part of this mailing list. It was good to
hear from Eukesh. I had only come across him on his not so good RfA at
enwiki :). I really admire the work he has done for the coverage of Nepal
and related articles at the English Wikipedia.
Today's signpost [
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/2007-06-04/Dutch_…]
has an article about the Dutch government releasing photos of all cabinet
members under GFDL. This is a landmark move by any government. I hope all
the governments including Government of India follows suit soon. I had once
uploaded hundreds of photos of our MPs, but they all got deleted under as
they did not meet our strict non-free image guidelines.
Is it possible that the Indian government would even consider any petition
like this? Any suggestions on how we can also go about petitioning our
central and state governments to start thinking about releasing photos under
GFDL or PD. Creative-commons has an India chapter now. Could we co-ordinate
with them to start putting pressure on our government?

Me too. :)
I subscribed to every mailing list when I was on the Board of
Trustees. I live in England and Australia, so I'm not directly
involved with the proposed India chapter but I'm generally interested
in the formation of chapters.

Hello everyone. I am aksi_great across various projects. Thanks hpnadig for
coming up with this great idea to bind all the Indian projects together.
There is IRC, but nothing better than good ole mailing lists :)
I would really like to hear from other Indian language wikipedias about any
new exciting things they are doing right now article stats, and other
things.
Regards,
Akash
Hmm, so is this a newly formed mailing list? Someone told me to subscribe to
