Greetings, We are delighted to inform you about the Free Wikimedia
Technology Training - 2022. We’re hosting a series of online training
sessions from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM IST scheduled every weekend (Saturday &
Sunday) from 10th September to 14th November 2022. This training helps the
volunteers interested in learning WikiTech from the basics and open to
technophiles, CS Students and professionals.

- Training by Wikimedia stakeholders who have hands-on experience in
technical volunteering.
- MediaWiki services provide a rich core feature set and a mechanism to
attach extensions to provide additional functionality.
- The Wikimedia movement is the totality of people, activities, and
values which revolve around Wikimedia sites and projects with
- Learn to build powerful extensions, and packages, which lets you build
whole applications on top of the platform.
- The principles of free cultural works mean that anyone can use
Wikimedia without restriction, including commercially.
- Participants who have successfully completed training will be invited
to participate in the Wikitech hackathon 2022, and certificates will be
provided.
The object of these training programs is to promote the use of software
resources that extend content contributors' and consumers' capabilities and
insights beyond those provided by the core wiki experience.

As you might have noticed already from our central banners, Wiki Loves
Monuments 2022 has started from today and will continue until the end of
this month. If you are interested to participate in the competition and
upload photographs of built heritage structures, please visit this link -

We are also excited to announce that our 3-members national jury team is
finalized and honored to introduce them with you all. The jury members are -
- Biswarup Ganguly - a veteran Wikimedian from the West Bengal community
who has contributed immensely for open knowledge through his documentary
photographs of life, culture and heritage of Bengal, especially of Kolkata
and surroundings for around 13 years. His photographs on Wikimedia Commons
are frequently being used in different news media outlets and by book
authors
- Humayunn Niaz Ahmed Peerzaada - a professional photographer based in
Mumbai, Maharashtra who has been in the field of photography since 2007.
Though Humayunn has been involved in photography of all genres, he
specializes in architecture, table top & making 360° virtual panoramas. His
two series of panoramas of built heritage of West Bengal have earned him
wide accolades.
- Sugato Mukherjee - a photographer and writer from West Bengal with
bylines in BBC, Al Jazeera, Nat Geo Traveller, Deutsche Welle, Mint and
several international inflight magazines. His coffee table book on Ladakh
was published in 2013 and received critical acclaim. Winner of multiple
photography prizes, Sugato's documentary project on the sulphur miners of
East Java was awarded distinctions by the UNESCO.
