By launching the National Repository of Open Educational Resources (NROER)
portal-a free online repository of National Council of Educational Research
and Training (NCERT) courseware-the government has taken a significant step
towards widening and improving access to learning resources and has
provided a fillip to the movement for free and open knowledge in the
country.

A good question. I hope the trainers will have experience working on at
least one FA class articles or a GA class at a minimum, preferably on the
English Wikipedia in addition to expertise on their home language Wikipedia.
best wishes

Dear All,
CIS-A2K is organising a 4 day Train the Trainer (TTT) program in Bangalore during 1st week of October 2013. The idea of the program is to build capacity and enable community members to conduct outreach sessions independently or with minimal support to introduce Wikipedia to prospective editors in their respective Indian languages.
By way of this program, CIS-A2K wants to support and enable community members who might be interested to conduct Wikipedia outreach sessions in their own cities/languages. The event is open to all Wikimedia volunteers from India who can and want to support outreach events in the coming year.
CIS-A2K is calling for applicants for it's Train the Trainer Program. If you'd like to be part of this program please make sure that you meet the selection criterion [1] and submit Train the Trainer Program Application From [2] by 13th September, 2013.
To know more about the program, rationale, overview, timeline etc. please check the attached document or visit the Meta page.[3]
We look forward to hearing from you soon. For any further queries please mail at a2k(a)cis-india.org
Thanks

Its now almost 3 years since the chapter was formed. There are quite a few
issues plaguing the current organisation, related to membership,
functioning and our tax status.
The chapter is considering hiring of a consultant to look into these
issues, provide remedies and implement those remedies. Should you be aware
of someone who has experience and is good at dealing with membership based
organisations, please do get in touch with us offlist.

Subject: Re: [Wikimediaindia-l] Licence violation
Yes, we actually cracked down on them 2 years ago from not making it clear
that the content was from Wikipedia. They have since changed their ways
and have it clearly stated in the "Overview" section and properly
attributed the Wikipedia contributors involved in the book. We looked into
how they could change the "Authors" section, but the online sellers'
platforms they were using (such as Barnes and Noble) don't permit more than
a few names, which makes listing all of the contributors impossible and we
didn't want them to say that Wikipedia was the author because that
erroneously makes people think that they books were sponsored or introduced
by WMF or the contributors involved, neither of which is true.
Additionally, we do not believe that not listing the contributors under the
"Author" section online is necessarily a violation of the license.
However, not listing them in the book, where the content actually is
reproduced, was and they have since corrected that to the best of my
knowledge.
Hope that helps clear things up!
