July 12-15 in Washington, DC. It's a great opportunity to present on a cool
project you're doing or simply come meet your fellow Wikimedian and
*superstars* like Jimmy Wales! :)
The deadline for submissions is Sunday, March 18 at 11:59 (San Francisco)
Pacific Daylight Time (or 06:59 UTC on 19 March 2012).
We seek submissions for presentations, workshops, panels, and other types
of sessions.
Topics may include anything related to Wikipedia, MediaWiki & tech (e.g.
mobile), Wikisource, Wikimedia Commons and other sister projects,
OpenStreetMap, third-party wikis (e.g. WikiHow), wikis in business,
government, etc., civic & local wikis, GLAM-wiki and other cultural
outreach initiatives, education outreach, research into wikis and
collaboration, and more. These topics are just suggestions.

My name is Sydney Poore, User:FloNight at WMF wikis. I live in Saint
Augustine, Florida now after living in Kentucky for 25 years.
Last weekend, I attended DC GLAMcamp where we discussed how to better reach
out to cultural organizations in the US. While there I heard that you all
had a great library event in Atlanta fairly recently. :-) :-)
I volunteered to help cultivate contacts with GLAMs (Galleries, libraries,
archives, and museums) in each state. So, I would love to hear from you all
about which cultural organizations and institutions are currently actively
working with Wikipedia or who would be good for us to approach.
Since I live in Florida, I have a special interest in reaching out to
people in the Southeastern part of the US. Would be great to hold some
regional events.
I'm planning to work with the Saint Augustine 450 Commemoration, a 4 year
long initiative to create legacy projects in honor of the founding of Saint
Augustine, and Florida. Would welcome anyone to make a trip down to our
fine city to participate in an event.
I plan to organize local events around the US Wiki Love Monuments project.
I have experience taking pictures of locations on the US National Register
of Historical Places (the focus of the US event) and would be glad to give
advice to anyone who would like assistance setting up an event in their
local areas.
Look forward to hearing about what is happening in Georgia,

The Meeting Room you will be in has eight outlets, including two floor outlets in the middle of the room. So, we can configure the room to suit your needs. Wikipedia Loves Libraries is a wiki-coordinated program of distributed
micro-conferences (editathons) to be held at libraries and archives in
cities across North America around *October 2011*.

area? We have a month to plan this event. October 22 is a tentative date.

I'm Jill with the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System (AFPLS). We thought the Wikipedia Loves Libraries program was a nifty idea and saw this meetup group listed on the Meetup/Atlanta site . We were wondering if you guys are still meeting. If so, we wanted to know if you would be interested in meeting regularly at the AFPLS Central Library. We could provide a conference room on the Reference floor for you, and a projector if needed. You would have easy access to reference materials, library databases, and a librarian if you had any questions.
