Hello Wikimedians!
I apologize for the delayed response. I have been out for a few days but John has been
working closely with me on this and can speak for me when I'm out.
I think there will be enough outlets, but I will bring a power strip just in case.
Also, we asked about food, since some of you may be staying for a while and the conference
room is reserved until close to dinnertime. You are welcome to bring snacks and something
to drink with you.
Jillian

That sounds great. We may not know exactly what we're going to do until that day, when
we see how many people show, etc. But it sounds like a great place to have a meeting.
Thank you for your help. =)

Jesanj,
I am John Wright, a librarian here at the Central Library I have been working with Jillian
on your Wikimedians event. The WiFi signal in the meeting room is strong. The Meeting
Room you will be in has eight outlets, including two floor outlets in the middle of the
room. So, we can configure the room to suit your needs. Depending on the configuration
you want or for added flexibility, you may want to bring a surge protector. The Meeting
Room is fairly good sized. If you would like to set up one end of the room for Wikimedians
to work on Wikipages, there should still be plenty of space to do training on the other
side of the room.

Jillian,
I'm not sure if you are on our list for you to have received Ganesh's email
(question about WiFi below).
I see you do have WiFi at the library:
http://www.afpls.org/afplsservices/wi-fi#InformationSafe
Is the signal in the Reference floor conference room good?
And how many electrical outlet plugs are in the room?
(I could bring my surge protector with 5 outlets on it if needed.)
Thanks,
Jesanj

Hello Jillian,
The timing, 2:30 pm to 6 pm is good. I have updated the signup page with the information.

I will be bringing a laptop. I hope others will too. Do you have WiFi access at the
library?
We do not have any meetups planned before November 19th. I will let you know about future
meetups well in advance.
Thanks for your support.

Hello Ganesh,
November 19th sounds great. The Reference floor conference room is available that day
from 2:30 pm to closing at 6:00 pm. We wish we could give you more time, but there is a
group meeting in there beforehand. If you want a longer session, we may be able to put
you in the General Collections conference room on 3rd floor (which also has a pretty good
reference collection and is one floor up from us). We will arrange for a projector and
screen for you.
Do all of you have laptops? We have desktop computers available for you here, but none in
the actual conference rooms.
A regular Wikimedians meetup at the library sounds fantastic. If you guys can decide on
dates when you would like to regularly meet and give us some advance notice, we can keep
the conference room and projector reserved for you on those dates. If you want to go
ahead and schedule your next quarterly meeting before November 9th, we can announce the
event on our website and in the library's magazine and distribute flyers. Just let us
know. :)
Jill

Wikipedia Loves Libraries is a wiki-coordinated program of distributed
micro-conferences (editathons) to be held at libraries and archives in
cities across North America around *October 2011*.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Loves_Libraries
The advantages of the Wikipedia Loves Libraries model:
- Easy to organize, even at small public libraries
- Welcoming to everyone, Wikipedians, Librarians, and all library patrons
- It's "the living reference section"
- Also, it's fun!
Is there any interest in meeting up for this event in the Metro Atlanta
area? We have a month to plan this event. October 22 is a tentative date.
Best regards,
Ganesh
