Just a note on Wikipedians in Residence
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedian_in_residence> and COI: As with
all WiR projects, responsible and irresponsible implementations are always
possible. I think with any COI (or even coi-adjacent) editing, the key is
transparency and caution. Most WiR positions end up creating a summary page
of what is in-scope for the position and what work has been done. It might
even be useful for the Wikimedian in Residence exchange network
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedians_in_Residence_Exchange_Network>
(the
de facto professional guild) to have a short set of guidelines. I suspect
they'll both facilitate editing by others as well as edit directly, but not
paid to promote a specific position.
All the best,
thomas

Thanks for sharing your concerns.
This WIR will not be editing articles about Annual Reviews itself.
Annual Reviews is a nonprofit publisher.
The opportunity to increase citations to more highly reliable sources is a
*benefit* to Wikipedia.
The WIR will be coached in best practices for COI and integrating content.
