That's the version we're using. Using the monobook skin. I didn't realize
that skins contained behavior/program logic - that's kind of surprising. The
guy is pretty attached to this skin. No other workarounds? Would be nice to
just have a $Tmp= option in the config.
The version of MonoBook in 1.4 doesn't use any temporary files, so there
would be nothing to configure.
Make sure that you have completely replaced all script files; sometimes
people end up with a strange mixture, or put in a new set of files but
have their configuration load up the old version of code from another
directory instead.
If you still
have problems, it would help to know exactly which files
it's trying to work with in /tmp.
Hrm. What's the best way to find that out? (/tmp has tons of stuff from
other apps intermingled).
Often a filename is included in the error message. If not, usually some
information about what script line failed is included in the error
message. If not, usually there is _something_ in the error message from
which we might identify what code is involved, from which we might
figure out what it's trying to do.
The only clue we have right now about the error message is "The error
message implied that I could set the TMP environment to something
else". The only reference to TMP in the current code is a non-fatal
notification message about safe_mode in the installer (the bit about TMP
is left over from 1.3 and should be removed).
Can you read back the exact error message you're currently receiving?
Consider also that old pages with error messages on them may be cached
by the browser, so remember to refresh and check multiple pages.
