Thanks! I tried it and it works: it hides everything while leaving an anonymous kind of log entry e.g.:
(User creation log) - 15:38 (username removed) (log action removed) (comment removed)
but I'd prefer it would let me completely delete the log entry from the RC page. Still, its better than nothing!
thanks

Hi,
I've imported wikipedia's xml dump to my local mediawiki 1.14.0
But when I click around the articles, I get many errors
"
The requested page or revision cannot be found
The database did not find a page or revision that it was expecting to find.
"
While articles with same titles exist on wikipedia.
What's weird, I come across such errors when clicking Special:Random link.
I believe if article was removed, I shouldn't get to these pages at all.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks,
Anton
First, the site is www.tarheelwiki.com
I am using a skin called roundedblue2 which is located here: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Gallery_of_user_styles#Rounded_Blue_2
For some reason I cannot create new pages on my wiki due to this
database error:
A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in
the software. The last attempted database query was:
(SQL query hidden) from within function "efUpdateCheckUserData". MySQL
returned error "1146: Table 'notquite_thw.cu_changes' doesn't exist
(localhost)".
I also get the following error after immediately clicking on the link
in the validation emails:
Confirm e-mail address
Invalid confirmation code. The code may have expired.
Can anyone help me with this issue? I just installed everything fresh
2 nights ago.
Here is my system configuration:
MediaWiki 1.15.1
PHP 5.2.9 (cgi-fcgi)
MySQL 5.0.81-community-log
Thanks,
Thomas
I have the following configuration :
I have Mediawiki 1.13.3 and semantic mediawiki 1.4.1 on ubuntu server
2.6.17-9-server with LDAP installed. This serves as a main server.
I had to make a test server which is the exact replica of the main server,
which i did by taking database backup and the mediawiki back up.
The test server works fine for whitelisted pages. But where user login is
required to view certain pages, it doesn't accept the login information.
What modifications should be done in LocalSettings.php to redirect the LDAP
authentication to the main server?
Is it possible at all? Or should I have to install LDAP on the test server
as well?
Please help.

Everyday is an oppurtinity to make a new happy ending :)
Hi all,
I have Mediawiki 1.13.3 and semantic mediawiki 1.4.1 on ubuntu server
2.6.17-9-server.
When I try using deleteBatch.php script in <wikiinstallation>/maintenance/
to delete a page, it says,
"skipping non-existent page" even when the page very well exists.
I have pasted the the URL of the page in a text file and used it.
Please let me know how to make it work.
Thank you,
Sirisha

I don't know who is maintaining this extension since we lost robchurch, but
I thought I would post here for suggestions before making a change.
The original intent of the extension was to have customizable email
notifications sent when a new user creates an account. The recommended
modifications would allow the customization and extension of parameters that
are passed to the MediaWiki:Newusernotifbody message, and subsequently a far
more flexible message that is sent in the notification. In the example, I've
used a facilitated notification and approval process for users requesting
access to a wiki.
For full details, see:
hancement_Recommendation_-_Configurable_Message_parameters_--jdpond_01:31.2C

ancement_Recommendation_-_Configurable_Message_parameters_--jdpond_01:31.2C_
25_July_2009_.28UTC.29
The changes should be backwards and forward compatible with any site that
currently uses the extension, and the additional processing demands are
minimal if any.
New parameters to be passed to the MediaWiki:Newusernotifbody message would
be added in the LocalSettings, like this example:
require_once("$IP/extensions/NewUserNotif/NewUserNotif.php");
$wgNewUserNotifSenderParam[] = '$user->getEmail()'; // $7 email address
(example)
This change would also allow those of us who've used the existing extension
(by modifying the class directly), to have forward compatibility and not
have to hack at for upgrades.
Suggestions? Approval? Bad Idea?

Yes, you can.
For guest users it is quite simple editing "LocalSettings.php":
---
$wgGroupPermissions['*']['edit'] = false;
---
That means: Guest users cannot edit anymore and the edit page is disabled. It might be more tricky if you want to do it for every user.

I upgraded the OpenOffice.org Wiki from 1.13.3 to 1.15.1, and have come
across a problem that I cannot yet resolve.
On this Wiki we use a navigation TOC Template for building up book-like
navigation through common topics/wikibooks. It is split into 2 parts, a
MasterTOC that sets out the major layout components and a topic spcific
TOC that provides the links to Wiki articles.
This is the MasterTOC:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Template:Documentation/MasterTOC
This TOC defines a background color for the booktitle part as part of a
<div>. After upgrading to 1.15.1 (with no changes to the Template), the
color is no longer being rendered.
I'm assuming that there is an option that is new/different in 1.15.1?
but I'm not sure where to look. Any tips or ideas?
C.
