Hello,
I would like to query the wiki database to get a list of users with their
last login time.
The user table doesn't have a field for last login. Maybe the information
is somewhere in the logging table ?
Any help appreciated.

Dear All,
Since upgrading MediaWiki from 1.12 to 1.15 I have lost the ability to upload files, I get the below internal error.
Could not rename file "C:\PHP\uploadtemp\php140.tmp" to "public/8/8b/Tn_IMG_6423ASL_CARDIFF.jpg".
Can anyone suggest anything to rectify this?
David

Hi, I have tried to get the CodeReview extension, and I've run into two
problems.
For the code_authors table in codereview.sql, I had to reduce both
varchar(255) to varchar(160) because I was getting "#1071 - Specified
key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes" -- why would that need
to be shorter? (and by so much!) But - reduce the size and it works.
For svnImport.php, the script claims to be working (though with errors)
but no revisions are actually imported:
root@binnie:/var/www/w/extensions/CodeReview# php svnImport.php

The repository uses svn:// and not apache (the --trust-server-cert
sounds like to me like it might be expecting https:// and it might have
to trust the cert - but I use svnserve not apache for now at least).
What can I do to have this work?
Thanks for your help,

Hi all,
I followed the instructions at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Copying to install the public domain
help pages at my wiki. I'm not sure what happened but I think the export
process has somehow been tampered with. Please see the results here:
http://lauraogrady.ca/ckbwiki/index.php/Help:Contents
If you scroll through this page you will see that is repeats the same
content (Template then Usage).
Has anyone recently installed the help files? If so, did you get it to
work?
Also I followed the instructions at
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles to grab all the images
associate with the help pages. There are literally hundreds of them and
it took a considerable amount of time to grab them one file at a time. I
haven't uploaded them yet due to the problem with the help pages. My
question is could they not be provided in a zip/compressed format for
download?
Thanks.
Laura
Hello!
I need a way to find all the pages on my wiki that do not have any
illustrations yet. I was wondering if there was a tool to do that.
Sorry for my poor english and thank you a lot for your help!
Laurent
Hi all,
I understand that PostgreSQL isn't as well supported by mediawiki as
MySQL is, but it's what I am familiar with, so I use it. :)
Specifically, I already use it on my server (Debian Lenny), and I want
to install it on my laptop for devel and testing (Ubuntu 9.10), so I
actually really need to stick with PostgreSQL at this point. Which
brings me to my problem;
I tried just copying my MW install and database to the laptop, but I
get a bunch of PgSQL errors:

How do I know if I am doing something wrong WRT restoring from backup
versus a MW + PgSQL 8.4 bug? I simply do 'pg_dump an_wiki -U digimer >
an_wiki.out' and use the resulting file to load back the DB: 'psql
an_wiki -U digimer -f an_wiki.out'; Nothing special.
Thanks!

We need some help with the new JS2 method. Th documentation is
understandably a bit patchy
(http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk:JS2_Overview - anything better or
more?).
Scenario: we use jquery for javascript that resides in the mediawiki
namespace and is called through mediawiki:common.js
In the last months, the usability initiative has provided the
necessary jquery core library. With the update to the current
mediawiki revision (as used by wikipedia) this no longer works. I
understand that JS2 provides a superior mechanism. And I understand
that ulitmately, putting language strings into php might be
beneficial.
For the moment, however: Is there a simple cooking recipe to simply
make use of JS2 for having jquery loaded? We could write an extension,
to hardcode that, but we would like to move forward and start using
JS2.
thanks in advance!
Gregor

Hello,
.zip files are locked in $wgMimeTypeBlacklist because .zip can be a security
hole.
If you really want to enable the upload, add this to LocalSettings.php:
$wgMimeTypeBlacklist= array(
# HTML may contain cookie-stealing JavaScript and web bugs
'text/html', 'text/javascript', 'text/x-javascript',
'application/x-shellscript',
# PHP scripts may execute arbitrary code on the server
'application/x-php', 'text/x-php',
# Other types that may be interpreted by some servers
'text/x-python', 'text/x-perl', 'text/x-bash', 'text/x-sh',
'text/x-csh',
# Windows metafile, client-side vulnerability on some systems
'application/x-msmetafile',
);
$wgFileExtensions[] = 'zip';
Viele Grüße
Jan

Betreff: [Mediawiki-l] How do you allow zip files uploads
I need to configure my wiki to allow uploading of zip files. Now I have
added it to my LocalSettings.php file. However I see that it is still
blacklisted and I need to change this setting in another file. I have done
quite a bit of reading up on this but I am still in the dark as to what file
I need to edit and what I need to edit into it?

Hello All,
First off, sorry for using "internalization" rather than
"internationalization". I noticed the errors just after hitting send.
I have solved my own problem with a bit more trial and error. For those
that are finding this in the future here's the answer I came up with:
You use $wgExtensionMessagesFiles to add the extension message file that you
have set up. It doesn't appear to matter where this is, so long as the file
in which it appears is require()'d iin some way. An example of this is as
follows:
$wgExtensionMessagesFiles['referenceName'] =
'/path/to/messages_file.i18n.php';
Note: It is common to have 'referenceName' match 'messages_file' and for
this to also be the name of the extension.
You then need to use wfLoadExtensionMessages inside any function that you
are using in which you want some translation. This is what I was missing:
you apparently can't just use it in the constructor as you can with a
SpecialPage subclass. An example would be:
wfLoadExtensionMessages('referenceName');
Note: referenceName is the same as in $wgExtensionMessagesFiles
Now you can use the multitude of wfMsg functions and the other i18n
functions to internationalize your content. Again, it appears that after
the calling function is finished working, the messages are unloaded and you
need to load them again in any new function that you create.
If I am sending people astray, please let me know,
Thanks,
Tim
