Is there a way to perform a two-table SQL Update statement using functions in Database.php?
update table1, table2
set table1.x = table2.y
where table1.foo = table2.bar
Function Database.php::update() appears to accept only a single table name. (This is in MW 1.12.)
Thanks.

to a specific email address. But i would prefer logging to a file...

Shelfari is a free site that lets you share book ratings and reviews with friends and meet people who have similar tastes in books. It also lets you build an online bookshelf, join book clubs, and get good book recommendations from friends. You should check it out.

Hi,
Is it possible to remove the 'edit' section links (but keep edit tab) for
existing users?
I used
$wgDefaultUserOptions['editsection'] = 0;
but I think it only works for new accounts - is that right?
Thanks
Alex
I am the super-user of my wiki.
I follow all pages.
I have checked all possibilities in email on "my preferences".
Nevertheless I don't get any notifications (got some in the past, but not lately - but there have been changes I see in my list).
Because I'm afraid that it involves anyone of the users, I want to fix this first.
Besides that I want to be informed on any changes or creation of new pages.
Who has an answer on both questions.
On our corporate wiki, I'd like to store user-related information -- their department, manager's name, etc. -- so I can run reports on wiki authorship by department and similar things.
The user information comes from ActiveDirectory/LDAP, but for performance reasons (so I can query it easily), I'd like to store a copy within the MediaWiki infrastructure. Any suggestions on the right place to put it?
- Create a new database table containing all the data, with user.user_id as a foreign key?
- Stash it in each user's Preferences?
- Store it in wiki articles, either automatically or (ugh) manually?
- Something else?
Thanks for your ideas & opinions.

Is there a way to limit the table of contents to only show the top two
levels or specifically here is an example:
==Header1==
===Header1a===
===Header1b===
====Header1b1===
==Header2==
In this instance I only want the TOC to be built with the ones that
have either == or ===. So in this example ====Header1b1==== would not
show in the TOC since it has ==== as a level.
I tried to contact the author direct, but I was unable to. Could
someone help me out with this extension:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:CategoryBreadcrumb
Basically I am trying to figure out what I could put in the code (or
css; or both) in order to change the size of the breadcrumb output. I
want it to be a font size of 11px.
Thanks!
Bobby
Good morning all,
I have a problem regarding the login of my mediawiki.
What I'm trying to do is, have the user login and be forwarded to the
desired page with the least clicks possible, i.e.:
1. MW sees that the user needs to log in
2. MW displays the login form
3. The user enters his data and clicks "Login"
4. MW logs the user in and opens the desired page
Currently I have come to the solution that a step 1b is necessary in which
the user gets the message "You need to login ..." with the link to the
login form.
I understand that in this case the returnto value is passed as GET to the
login form.
Is there another way to pass this parameter to the login form?
I'm fine with modifying the code but would need the correct parameters
(and the way how to pass them), which I currently have no idea about.

Markus
