Hello.
I'm building a wiki using mediawiki, and I would edit
the sidebar of my MediaWiki.
I tried to search MediaWiki:Sidebar on the search
tool,
but it seems that this page does not exist on my wiki.
I also typed its url to find it, but I created a new
page (instead of locate the edit-page for the
sidebar).
Thankyou in advance,
Giovanni Gherdovich

Hi,
I made an extension, which does some syntax highlighting. I'd like to
use an extra css file, so determine how the highlighted code will show
up, and to use the class-attribute to color the code.
Where am I supposed to write the style definitions? When I put them
right into the extensions php file with a style-tag, it screwed up the
font-size of the whole wiki page.
Any Ideas?

Windows Live Spaces is here! It’s easy to create your own personal Web site.
http://spaces.live.com/signup.aspx
Maybe I haven't set something up correctly but I have (to me) some strange
category behaviour: when I put text on a category page, all the links in
that category disappear, and the pages which have that category gain the
text which I add!
e.g. on the following page, there is the category "Schools", when I go to
the "Schools" category and add some text, the 2 schools listed disappear.
http://en.tervuren.treekee.com/wiki/British_Primary
(If you ALL try this at once it will be difficult to follow. Please feel
free to create "dummy" categories to test with. The site is still in
test-only mode.)
What do I need to do to make this work?
Thanks.
Hugh
I'm trying to find out some information about getting more advanced
statistics on our local wiki installation. Is anyone using modified
code or a reporting package that can give additional information
about the number of visitors, page views, etc? I really don't know
php myself, so I'm hoping that someone else has come up with a
solution before I try to start learning how to code.
Thanks!
Bob

Hello everybody!
this is my frist mail and I have a big problem!
I can't use media wiki to do the restoration of wikipedia dump into my
mysql database.
So I use mwdumper, but it doesn't work very well. It inserts first
280,000 pages and not the others. During the execution of the process,
it runs slowly, for the first 280,000 pages, because, in my opinion,
it works well. Then it begins to go fastly and it ends after little
time...
The problem is that once the pages it inserts are 280,000, other time
49,000, and everytime I try to do the restoration, this number
changed.
I think the problem is with mysql, with the management of the tails
and the buffer in input, but I don't know what I could do.
If someone can help me, please answers to the mail, thanks a lot.
Mario Scriminaci
Thanks, but try:
# 1
# 2
#: <pre> line 1 pre-formatted
and line 2 pp. </pre>
# 3
# 4
and it fails! (The second line appears normal -- ie not pre-formatted!

> If one just use <pre> </pre> tags (or indentation implying the same!) between list elements, the list continuity is lost. (e.g. Numbered list will be broken here and will start at 1. in the next item!). There used to be a work around for this:
> # one
> # two <nowiki>
> </nowiki><pre><nowiki>
> TMP
> </nowiki></pre>
> # three
as said in http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:List
you could use :
#one
#two
#: <pre> bla bla </pre>
#three
the #: is # + colon (":")
note : this put an indent before the <pre> block
