Hi
I tried to use the generateSitemap.php script
It is working, it just gives out the wrong timestamp
According to Google a timestamp should look like this (ISO8601)
<lastmod>2004-10-26T08:56:39+00:00</lastmod>
But it looks like this
<lastmod>1135341616</lastmod>
I tried it in an 1.5.4 and in a cvs environment.
Both times the same result. An obviously correct sitemap with
wrong timestamps.
i used this cvs-version
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/wikipedia
checkout -P phase3
what could it be ? anyone got a similar effect ?
thanks in advance

Hi,
I am using MediaWiki version 1.5. I want to have users email a sysopt to request a login account. I want to modify the link "create an account or login" to read "please email blah(a)blah.com to request a login" or something similar. I did a quick grep to see if I could find where this is stored but didn't find any obvious locations. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hii all ,
We have developed a web mapping application . And would like to integrate it with Wikipedia . Our mapping application uses MapServer,Php/Mapscript , as the scripting language and MySql as the database. Our application accepts user clicks on the image provided by us .And points are plotted .We have developed a Php file to accomplish this. Could anybody tell us how to go about for creating a plug-in for Wikipedia ?
Thanks a lot for your help,

Tried reloading, tried dropping the database and recreating it but the
problem wont go away. I looked around and folks mentioned recompile
of php but that was only when using new versions of MySQL. Here are
versions of all the components
php 4.3.11
apache 1.3.33
mysql 4.0.21 (Complete MySQL)
mediawiki 1.5.7
Thanks for any insight you can shed on this issue.

Hello,
I've just upgraded from 1.4.14 to 1.5.7 and now all the image links are
shown as simple links ... what could have gone wrong? Was there any
change with the namespace?

Quick question about language configuration settings.
When you're configuring MediaWiki to use a language which is not one of the languages selectable by the drop down menu on the configuration page, which one should be used? Or is that what the "converter" setting is for?

Hello,
Quick question. I have checked the FAQ and the documentation. Why
doesn't mediawiki use mysqli? It's actually not that hard to switch
from using mysql to mysqli. Also, mysqli supports a few nice things.
thanks,
adrian
Howdy,
So tonight I set off writing a short little extension for mediawiki, and got
in a fight with the parser.
My extensions characteristics, in short, are that: it takes arguments from
my defined tags and the content between the tags, and inserts them into a
javascript function.
To make my javascript 'pretty', I like to stick a few \n's in the $input
strings (the content between the tags). Of course the parser is more then
happy to turn these into:
</p><p><br />
</p><p><br />
</p>
<pre>
(for 5 \n's), which really busts up the javascript. :)
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_extensions_FAQ#How_can_I_avoid_mod…
... implies the parser would have to be mucked with to prevent conversion of
the newlines.
But!!!!... a section or two above, it's stated that when you forcibly render
text with the parser, you can turn off the <p> tags with a simple 'false':
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_extensions_FAQ#How_do_I_render_wik…
I'd think it'd be a short step to allow the extension to set a variable, or
call a method, essentially giving the parser the same 'false', as when it is
called directly: $wgOut->parse('text', false);
That sure would make life easier.
E.g. $wgParser->setHook( "MyExtension", "renderMyExtension", 'false'); ...
or maybe $wgParser->setPtag('false');
Hopefully somebody can tell me if I've missed some easy answer, or this
functionality is already there (no, I haven't read through Parser.php yet).
Or a second best: that there would be interest into adding this into nearby
release?
I'm aware there is probably a 'long way' around this problem, i.e.: set a
hook for ParserAfterTidy, then find my tags+content, strip my tags and their
args, re-insert my args+content, and finally dump all of the page again...
bleh...
Thanks,
Luke
I like the special page that lists popular pages by their views, and was
wondering if there if functionality in the mediawiki software that would
let you see the number of views of a page in the last week or so. This
would be used to create a list of high use pages that are currently
being worked on. Does anybody know if this functionality exists, or if
there is already an extension available the accomplishes this.
Thanks
