Installation dies after URI path

same problem with me
http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/mediawiki-l/2004-August/001151.html
and Marko Faas
http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/mediawiki-l/2004-August/001154.html
look into this topic
1.3.1 installation hangs up after Script URI path
first we thougth it could be just memory and in your case it still could be
but it seems as if by enlarging the php memory limit there cant be gained
anything.
Even wiht 32 mb
Still I did some debugging and made some findings discribed in the mails
linked above
which where put further forward be Marko Faas who figured out it could habe
something to do
with language dependency.

I'm trying to set up my Bugzilla to look and feel like MediaZilla by
using the template designed by Timwi:
http://download.wikimedia.org/bugzilla/mediazillatemplate.tar.gz
However it seems that just including that template is not enough. Even
after installing the template my Bugzilla doesn't look like MediaZilla.
For example the is not MediaZilla logo and there is not left-side box
(search, etc...) is at the bottom of my page, not on the left.
If just importing the template is not enough, could you help point me in
the right direction? I've read the Bugzilla docs on making your own
templates and tried to follow what Timwi did but it's been a bit over my
head.
Thanks,
Jc
I followed Thomas' instructions and inserted my Google code as below
(beginning <div id="p-advertisement...)
When I insert this into the xhtml_slimt.pt file and upload it to my server
in place of the existing file, the AdWord code does not show. The site
functions as usual. The code does not impair function.
Thomas' input was:
>You might have to force a reload and/or delete the
>template file from PHPTal which has a filename
>like tpl_....php in you temporary directory.
I cannot find the file of which he speaks.
There is no "temporary" folder (by that name) that I could see, and I could
not find any such file in the PHPTAL-NP-0.7.0 folder.
Any tips?

So I feel quite foolish asking a basic question like this on the list
but I can't seem to find answers on google or any other documentation
I have looked at...perhaps someone will point me at the documentation
I need.
Anyway, I installed MediaWiki on my site (www.invariant.org/media) and
it works great in IE, unfortunatly mozilla displays a simple text page
instead of the navigation bar and so forth. I'm sure I'm missing
something really simple as Wikipedia handles mozilla just fine for me
but can someone tell me what it is?

Hi,
in case you havn't read my initial e-mail: I am currently trying to
establish a wiki-based, open species directory at www.wikispecies.org/,
which is meant to become a wikimedia project.
I got some support for contents by a range of wikipedia writers, but what I
really need now are developers who set up a basic structure so that we can
get started. Jimbo Wales suggested that the inital wikispecies would be
basically the same as the one of wikipedia.
I evaluated some species data bases and based on that I worked out a basic
structure: a main page with search functions and sub-pages for an individual
species/genus/family and so on, whith different features that can be
searched for (for details see bottom of this e-mail).
If you think you can help, please let me know - every support is much
appreciated! Thanks,
Benedikt
MAIN PAGE AND SUBPAGE STRUCTURE
Best viewed at: www.fishbase.org (though for a rather professional user,
therefore a bit extensive). Main page would need to be a search page that
provides a determination key as well.
Search terms
A general division in standard search and advanced search with details
would be good.
NAME (common name, scientific names, synonyms, taxonomic number, etc.)
CLASSIFICATION KEY (classification, would be perfect if we could get a PDA
compatible one for field applications)
GLOSSARY
FAMILY (loads of detail search functions, see at fishbase)
DISTRIBUTION (loads of detail search functions see at fishbase: country)
ECOSYSTEM (loads of detail search functions, see at fishbase)
TOPIC (special topics and articles)
TOOLS (loads of detail search functions, see at fishbase; including a
reference/literature search)
BIODIVERSITY MAP (once again: see at fishbase)
MEDIA (maps, films, pictures, if available)
Subpage for species:
CLASSIFICATION (as tree diagram, looks like a path)
NAMES
MORPHOLOGY (incl. picture or illustration)
BEHAVIOUR
RESILIANCE / REPRODUCTION
HABITAT / ENVIRONMENT
MEDIA (images, maps, diagrams, videos, etc.)
CLIMATE
ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE
DISTRIBUTION (geographically and in terms of countries)
CONSERVATION STATUS
DANGERS

of a subdir?
===================

Please include all of the lines below when reporting installation problems.
Checking environment...
PHP 4.3.8: ok
PHP server API is apache; ok, using pretty URLs (index.php/Page_Title)
Have XML / Latin1-UTF-8 conversion support.
PHP is configured with no memory_limit.
Have zlib support; enabling output compression.

Coming from UseMod wiki software, where this information is always
present, I would like to introduce these patches in the coming versions
of MediaWiki:
to show and link who edited last the article (or revision)
==========================================================
(1) on every article's footer
"This page was last modified on .. (date) by userX(talk)"
=========================================================
For this patch the page MediaWiki:lastmodified needs to be
modified, add $2 and/or $3 if you wish to display the user and usertalk
information and links:
page MediaWiki:lastmodified
1.3.1 Original: "This page was last modified $1."
1.3.1 TG Patch: "This page was last modified $1 by $2 ($3)."
(2) on each article's revision page
"Revision as of .. (date) by userX(talk)"
=========================================
For this patch the page MediaWiki:revisionasof needs to be
modified, add $2 and/or $3 if you wish to display the user and usertalk
information and links:
page MediaWiki:revsionasof
1.3.1 Original: "Revision as of $1"
1.3.1 TG Patch: "Revision as of $1 by $2 ($3)"
The patch is for the modules Skin.php and Article.php of version 1.3.1;
the patch is ready and will be published soon.

UPDATE
We found an much easier way to change the letter "N" indicating NEW
PAGES for an UPLOADABLE icon.
See the result **LIVE** on the page
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spezial:Recentchanges
The whole patch:
see http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:newpageletter
<img src=/upload/X/YY/Neu.png>
* Replace "/upload/X/YY/Neu.png" with the relative URL on your wiki
* The URL is shown on the [[Image:Neu.png]] page after you uploaded it
to your wiki.
The uploaded image file page should be locked against unintended and
unwanted changes.

then install gives up and page is never completed
I read through the complete discussions about install problems and to picked

the breaking point in the script is at a different line

could it be possible that after all it could be solved by enlargeing the

but the install script said ok at that point?
