Maybe you didnot understand the question ?
Alvaro thinks it is wrong that Daniel himself edit his
article page. He thinks that is another good reason to
delete the article. So, he wanted facts to support his
case.
He wanted to know whether that anonymous ip was Daniel
or someone else. In short, he wanted to know how he
could retrieve Daniel IP address.
Presently, the IP address of a logged-in user can only be retrieved by
comparing their edits against the web server log file, which means only a
few people with login access to the server can do it.
In order to protect the privacy of users, on general principle this is
only done in cases of grievous vandalism. I would consider it bad form to
write an article about yourself, but not vandalism. Daniel can choose to
answer himself whether he wrote it or not.
(Note: old log files are cleared out about once every week or two.)
