Right, so I'll put a template on my user page
saying that I have studied
computer science. Then someone comes along and changes something in an
article about a politician. Am I then disallowed from fixing their
mistake because I am not an "expert" in the relevant field?
Not at all. I was thinking more in terms of "hi, you know something about
this, could you please sanity-check?" on their talk page.
