Dear all:
On the occasion of the 2023 edition of Fespaco
<https://fespaco.org/en/welcome-to-fespaco/>, the continent’s largest film
festival taking place between February 25th and March 4th, AfroCreatives
WikiProject <https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/AfroCreatives_WikiProject> is
launching a pan-African Edit-a-thon campaign to enhance content on the art
and industry of African film.
We would like to connect with you to see if this is a campaign that your
community group would be interested in being part of.
AfroCreatives will conduct training sessions in French and English on-site
at Fespaco, as well as ‘global’ online sessions. It will also lead an
online campaign in the lead-up to, and during the campaign in partnership
with Fespaco and other partners.
While contributors are welcome to contribute in any language, the promotion
and judging of this campaign will be in English and in French, the two
primary languages of the film festival.
As part of this campaign, we would like to engage local groups throughout
the continent who are interested and would be committed partners. Could we
interest you in a conversation sometime next week to discuss this
possibility?
If this is a good fit for your usergroup, we will encourage you to consider
applying for a Rapid Grant
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid#December_2022_%E2%80%9…>
from the Wikimedia Foundation. Applications are due December 1.
Best,
