Just FYI :-)
The German Verein has just received a legal opinion they ordered some
time ago, concerning various legal issues for wikipedia and German law.
It turns out that, according to the legal opinion, German law prohibits
the collection of quotes, or quotes as such, if they are not used in a
context.
That would mean the German wikiquote project's legal status is shaky at
best. (IANAL)
The German PDF with the legal opinion is at [1], and as wiki code at [2].

Avichai and six other Hebrew Wikipedians and Wikiquoters have signed up to
create a Hebrew Wikinews.
I've checked out their contributions, approved the request to start
development on Meta-Wikipedia.

As said. I'd be happy to copy and preserve the memoir content of the site on memorywiki.org. In fact, we've copied some of it already (with attribution, of course, as per the GNU license). If you'd like to enter into some more formal relationship re the transfer and preservation of the content, I'd be happy to discuss it (though I'm not sure that's necessary).
In exchange for taking it (or rather more of it than I wanted, and promising to maintain it), I would like help publicizing www.memorywiki.org, though I'm not sure if the Foundation has any mechanism for helping in that area. In any case, I'm glad to have the memoirs as they fit the mission of MemoryWiki perfectly.

"SUBMIT! SUBMIT TO WIKIPEDIA!" heh :-)
The use of "logged" in two different ways is (apparently) very bad. How about:
Your IP address is recorded when you edit. If you are not
logged in, it will be shown publicly. See
privacy policy.
Can anyone go even shorter and not lose important info?

(I've only just noticed it was posted by Anthony DiPierro, who may or
may not be a primary source - was he at Wikimania?)

I should agree with mav.
The message is measling or at least that someone can measlead it.
The message may lead to belive that MediaWiki software was created by
themselves.
Of course is not a severe problem, just a clearer statment would be better.
In any case since tradmark law required the prooves of active
protection could be shown, a request to them to clarify their message
can be useful in this aspect.

Hello,
at http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Schweiz/International I wrote a
short message in German (on a linked page) and English about the Swiss
Wikipedians meeting on november 13th in Zurich, where the foundation of
Wikimedia Switzerland will be the main topic (thanks to Ilario who
translated it into Italian!). Now we need somebody, who translates this
message also in French. The translator would need to update (i.e. translate)
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Schweiz/Location as well, which is
linked in the message.
Thanks in advance for helping!
Michael
