By default, MediaWiki sensibly blocks upload of SVGs with links.
However, we'd like to upload some to our intranet wiki (1.19). Is
there a setting to allow this?
(We already allow MS Office documents, so we're living on the edge obviously.)

Hi,
I am Akshit (Co-Founder of Wibe), we have made a Chrome Extension by which
anyone will be able to watch relevant YouTube videos corresponding to the
Wiki Article they are reading.
It is the deadly combination of Wikipedia and YouTube, it can really become
a great new feature of Wikipedia. We developed it to solve our problem of
switching to YouTube from Wiki to understand a particular thing.
I would be very thankful if you guys please try and review it. Then if you
like Wibe, consider it to integrate as a functionality in Wikipedia for
some days so that user can use and review this new feature.
*Website*: http://www.letswibe.com
*Extension*: http://goo.gl/EiFG9t
*Demo Video*: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98uDPo7ZjVI
Install the Extension and then try out "
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:About" page to see how it changes
the original wiki page by integrating relevant videos from YouTube.
Cheers,
Akshit Agarwal (Co-Founder, Wibe)

I filed a bug to track a proposal sent earlier to another list:
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68266 .
Which comes with a question for you all wiki admins:
> What wikis are using this [slashes in titles] on namespaces that do
not have
> sub-pages *and* would cause problems if sub-pages were enabled?

Hi all
we try to use open Authorization on our wiki. We first started with OpenID,
but then we suddenly realized that the big players like Google won't
support this protocol any longer.
So we want to move over to OAuth2.0, but the only extension we found so far
is SocialLogin, which seems not to work under MW 1.23 anymore, according to
its talk page and to our own experience :-(
Does anybody of you has either SocialLogin brought up to work or do you
have any other extension in mind which would allow an OAuth2.0 login to
support accounts from Google, Facebook etc.?
many thanks in advance & best regards
Steffen
I have about 400 pages in a wiki I'm administering that use
syntaxhighlighting using the old <code lang="lang">some code
here</code> method provided by and extension called
CodeSyntaxHighlight.
I'd like to remove the old extension and use SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi
going forward. To do this, I need to replace:
<code lang="lang"> with <syntaxhighlight lang="lang">
and
</code> with </syntaxhighlight>
Using the ReplaceText extension is one possibility, but I keep ending
up with a problem when <code></code> is used, as the closing tag gets
replaced and breaks the formatting.
Is there some magic regular expression that can do this? I'm working
through these pages manually right now.
Thanks
Bill

We've been using PostForm.php, but the spambots quickly found it and inundated us. We renamed all such pages with "_(hidden)" appended and removed the automatic #REDIRECT with a page that tells the user to put "_(hidden)" after the URL -- not exactly very user-friendly.
Forms without a CAPTCHA are nothing but trouble.
