I did not make a typo in copying the address to answer him...

It's possible to set the "from:" header to anything you want. If you
view the full headers of the message you can learn all sorts of
interesting things, eg. what program was used to send the email.
And funnily enough, I did a reply to the mail Anthere sent and
although the from addresse was wrong,t he reply to was good.
