supposed to be free in both their country of origin and in the US [1],
since WMF is hosted in the US.

This is also related with IMSLP which currently hosts files on public
domain with a note saying "public domain EXCEPT on US", and some of us
wonder if we could take advantage of that material (to upload samples
or to create midis for articles)
