Hi,
How to get/put MediaWiki User guide in my mediawiki installation?
I would like to have it locally.
Thank in advance.
Unfortunately, there is no easy way as yet. Some people have just
redirected their local Help: pages to the ones on
meta.wikimedia.org,
but this isn't ideal because it's still one page at a time (and I
believe interwiki redirects have now been limitted to those sites
designated as "local" in the database).
You *might* find it easier [than copying the text page by page] to
import the appropriate content from a database dump, from
http://download.wikimedia.org/index.php?thingumy=special Obviously,
you need to ignore everything except the "help" namespace (pages whose
cur_namespace = 12) - plus of course the templates used - it would be
nice if these had some sensible naming scheme, like
[[Template:Help/...]], but I'm afraid that's not the case as yet...
