[Labs-l] building different kernel

There is a 3.8x kernel for ubuntu: http://packages.ubuntu.com/raring/kernel/
-> linux-image, but I do not know if it works together with the other
precise-packages and you have to download the headers, tools and other
requirements, too, if you do not want to switch to raring (seems to be the
alpha/beta/RC of Ubuntu 13.04).

I have no resources to run any benchmarks (for that I would need to build 2
database instances with some data and run some tests) - I will just believe
the btrfs developers that it is better.

@Ryan thanks for translation! seems I understood something completely else.
If there is some prebuilt package of 3.8x kernel I will happily download
it...
