Sorry- i misunderstood you then (i admit to have only crossread the
thread). But still the latter doesn't provide a timeout and is slower
overall. Switching off time checking is really quick to do of course, so
why not.
I'll try to do the purge script tomorrow, then we could use the idle
machines as static caches without timeout (and switch the modification
time check on again).
