[Wikitech-l] How to globally set global variable via special page

Hello all. I'd like to ask how can I globally set global variable via a special page.
When I use $wgGlobalVar=$this->mRequest->getVal('name_of_field'); it's
set only for current session. How can I set it globally? Thanks for any suggestions. -MG
