and fr to be default, there should be a possibility to switch to the old

Well duh. In the same way that it is possible to manipulate the current
skin into de's/fr's layout using JavaScript, it is possible to do just
the reverse as well, except this time the JavaScript would be in users'
own .js pages where they actually belong.
