Don't worry, I think it's good that you send things to the list. I
learned a couple of things from Rob doing that, like "always update
the release notes".
I send them here because I'm a rude person who likes to have the
benefit of other people reviewing his communications and keeping him
in check. ;)
And to the new committers, don't panic; if you will review the commit
logs from 27th December 2005 for a while, you will see that I cocked
up on an almost regular basis. :)
Note: Tim's embarassment reduction does not apply if you do something
really stupid like introduce a major gaping security-level bug into a
release branch in time for a point release. ;)
