It's not, but it helps if you're checking that the output is the same.
If only whitespace is changed, then diff -w | grep -v '^[-+]$' should
work fine. If you've reordered anything, then it will be more tedious
-- that's more likely to actually change semantics, so would have to
be manually checked for correctness.
